Perfect location, close to the centre with plenty of shops and restaurants. Room was a fab size and super clean with staff, especially Di(ea)go, always smiling and looking after us - absolute perfection. Would stay here over and over again.

Everything. The pool and garden area were a dream. So gorgeous, spacious and so green for being in almost in the city center. It’s quite close walking distance to the main area. Near a pretty garden. Parking was always available in front of the hotel. The hot tub in the greenhouse was scenic and nice. The snack and coffee bar, breakfast were nicely stocked. The lounge area was cozy. It felt so welcoming and homey. I felt immediately relaxed being there. The check in process was streamlined, everything clear and convenient so that you basically just pick up the keys when you arrive. The room is set up wonderfully with plenty of places to put your bags, hang clothes, little tables in the right spots. Curtains to black out light. Netflix on tv, comfortable couch. Beautiful furniture. Everyone working there had such a great smile, were warm and seemed genuinely welcoming.

We LOVED everything about Casa Portuguesa! The owner and staff showed amazing hospitality. The location was right in the middle of everything fun...very walkable...10 minute walk to oceanfront. The villa couldn't have been more charming! Spotless with every amenity. The breakfasts were awesome! I could go on and on! We felt like we were in the perfect spot for the week before and through our daughter's wedding with wedding guests all there! Rachel came up with fun ideas to welcome our guests. Perfection!

Casa Portuguesa Is indeed a charming house- the most beautiful house I've ever seen with so much beauty, elegance and attention to every detail. A true paradise for art and aesthetics lovers. The staff did above and beyond to help . I didn't want to leave. I hope to come back again because this place is unforgettable ❤️.

There was nothing to be dissatisfied with.

I stayed here with my wife and 2 kids on June 26-28 and July 7-9 at the beginning and end of our Azores adventure, and it was the absolute perfect choice for many reasons. The #1 reason we loved our stay is the sincere hospitality of Raquel who owns and operates several beautifully restored Charming House hotels in the city with her husband. She was so lovely and made the hotel feel like a welcoming home. Raquel offered great conversation, reliable recommendations for restaurants and activities, and the staff took care of small but important details like providing espresso/tea/cookies throughout the day and a breakfast to go for our 4:00 a.m. wakeup for the airport. The hotel and accommodations are beautiful and amazing as well. The location is easy walking distance to so much, including a quiet park across the street. All beds were comfortable and furniture/decor in the common area was stylish. The pool was crystal clear and kept at a comfortable temperature. The breakfast was delicious and provided an enjoyable selection of local products. The neighborhood was safe and quiet, and parking was not an issue. One of our favorite moments was having drinks and charcuterie meal on the balcony at the end of a long day on the go. We have stayed in many different types of accommodations over our years of travel, and this is one of the very best! Thank you for helping us have such a wonderful holiday!

This truly is a charming house! We loved everything about it. The room is comfortable and super clean. The bathroom was big and the towels are big and soft. Towels for the pool are provided as well…use them…the pool is magical! The breakfast is delicious and different every morning. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This was one of my favorite places ever. I will definitely be back!

We loved everything!

The property is gorgeous and has historic roots that makes it even more special. The grounds and the house are stunning by and very tastefully decorated. The staff was exceptional! Everyone was so kind and considerate. We loved everything about the stay!

I think the staff could benefit from a little bit more hospitality training - for example helping guests with bags when they arrive as there is no elevator and lots of stairs. They could also be more prepared to help with ad hoc requests - the parking in the are is paid and you need to put coins into a meter or you will get a ticket. The reception team didn’t have any coins at the front desk to change notes from.

Stunning property - the attention to detail in the decor is really fabulous. It’s a lovely combination of traditional architecture and decor with modern features where needed (like the bathrooms). The breakfast was very pleasant and had lots of options. The location in the city is excellent - right in the historic centre.

There could have been another chair at the room but the be fair we never asked for it otherwise we would have probably gotten it.

This is a very recently renovated family house, well decorated and very comfortable. The rooms were large, the service extremely friendly and the amenities excellent. The breakfast had a bit of everything and when something ran out it would be replaced quickly. The pool was excellent and so was the jacuzzi. Also, we never used our own beach towels because some were provided by the hotel. Near the reception that was also a sel service station with coffee, cookies, water, and fruit. Location wise this was not at the centre but an extremely short walk from it. A small supermarket

A fabulous place to stay in Sao Miguel! I loved everything about Casa Portuguesa - a very beautiful house, extremely stylish decorated, great attention to detail, very cozy atmosphere! The rooms, the amazing swimming pool, the lounge and breakfast room, the garden and the jacuzzi - everything was amazing! The house is of very high quality and offers a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit the beautiful Azores ❤️ Thank you for the hospitality 😊

Everything was great!!

I had a wonderful one-night layover here and I had the most peaceful sleep of my entire trip! The house is bigger than expected, giving everyone enough privacy and comfort! The breakfast was delicious, the pool/hot tub was clean and comfy, and the staff were incredible helpful in holding our luggage after checking out and making suggestions for a one day itinerary before our flight. I would definitely recommend staying here!

THE worst coffee ever tasted at any breakfast. Guests changed to the capsule machine in the hallway. Cheap and bland Brazil pineapple is offered at breakfast. Come on, you have tasty Acores pineapples around the corner. Breakfast in general still very good.

House is beautiful and lovely renovated. It is near to town center and not too busy at the same time. The room was really nice with lot of space. Everything was very clean and taken care of. Our room had a nice view to the nearby garden and also a small terrace where you could relax outside. There is a pool which we didn't use.

Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and our room was awesome - nice and big and clean. Loved our own entry and balcony. The pool area was awesome and we loved the green house hot tub. Such a nice way to relax at the end of the day from exploring. This was our favorite stop on our honeymoon and 10000% suggest this hotel. The location is central - right near the park and easy to walk to anything. Parking was easy as well - free parking lot just one block away.

The hotel is wonderful, spectacular building modern design, great location. The room was clean and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the varied breakfast. And the hot jacuzzi after the day of walking was really great. We enjoyed every minute of of our stay. Highly recommended!
