Street noise and noise from other guests using the door in and out of the hotel onto the street pretty much went on all night. The set up felt a bit odd; no reception to check into at night because it’s converted into a bar. I don’t know, it just felt like a room we rented and it felt quite expensive for that. However, clean, good location and a nice room!

Just the narrow, steep stairs. Everything else would great! Great breakfast, great location, clean, friendly

We liked everything about the property except for the steep, narrow winding staircase to get to our room on the top floor (room 9). There is no lift and we knew that before going. With smaller luggage it would have been easier but we had a couple of bigger bags. One of the maids was kind enough to help me with my bag even though she was busy cleaning another guest’s room. That was very very kind of her

It’s character and proximity to everything in old Lisbon. The manager Madelena was efficient, kind and always there for you. Reception transfers into a cocktail bar at night and if you are a solo traveler it is safe, great fun and Rui is a treasure

If you're looking for a typical hotel with reception, concierge etc, this hotel doesn't have that, but dont let that put you off, accommodation excellent, staff absolutely amazing, helpful, supportive and generally just there to ensure your holiday is the best. They'll also recommend where to see and where to eat, and they got it spot on, as the restaurants we went to were lovely. Fabulous and vibrant location, quiet by day and comes alive at night. Superb location for old town. Overall, highly recommended.

Everything was great at Casa do Mercado Lisboa. Location is central and the staff was very nice. Having breakfast included was wonderful too.

The location was close enough to walk places but a bit rough around the edges ('pink street' bar scene was not appealing). The breakfast room/lobby/reception area/bar was a bit small. Instructions from the staff for arriving by metro from the airport were odd. We were directed to walk from Baixa/Chado station, which we later realized was a significantly longer and more challenging steeply cobbled walk (especially with luggage) rather than from the closer Cais do Sodre stop which was a flat walk near the hotel.

The bed and mattress were very comfortable and the shower was exceptional. The staff were helpful and communicative.

Shower door did leak a little and get the bath mat wet, but overall the stay was wonderful. Great location and the AC worked which was much appreciated since we traveled in the summer.

Location was fantastic and the breakfast buffet was delicious. The staff is so nice and welcoming, they really helped make the most of our short time in Lisbon.

Only a very minor thing. The shower leaked quite a lot so the floor got a huge puddle every time we used it

We had a beautiful room with a balcony in a character building.The location was perfect for exploring Lisbon. It’s a 5 minute walk to the Time Out Market, Pink Street, and the start of the No28 Tram. There were lots of cafes and restaurants around. Madalena and Pedro were excellent as what they do. They always responded quickly and Pedro gave us lots of tips for places to eat etc Breakfast was great. We’d absolutely stay here again.

Excellent location and service. Pedro was on hand for any advice on the best places to go and even helped out with booking reservations. Check-in was really easy and friendly, I was able to leave my bags before check in and after check out. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious with a wonderful bathtub! Breakfast was a good variety of cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, pastries and fruit with great coffee. I will certainly be staying here again next time in Lisbon.

Super well located and the access to the rooftop terrace was a nice bonus. Easy to get anywhere on the coast and in town. Public parking nearby (free).
