Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandEverything was great, the only thing I would recommend is adding a hair dryer.
Lovely top floor apartment with balcony looking over the main street. The check-in staff are extremely friendly and the check-in went smoothly. They helped me to carry a large suitcase up to the top floor, as there is no lift. Extremely clean apartment with a very good sized bedroom, and large bathroom with very nice shower. The air conditioning worked well. The apartments are a three minute walk from the ferry that does the 10 minute crossing to Lisbon. The apartments are in a very nice pedestrian street with a lot of lovely seafood restaurants. Very nice stay and would definitely return.

GermanyThere was a problem within the bathroom, the smell from the shower drain was absolutely unpleasant :(
The location is excellent, just 5 minutes by foot to the ferry and in 10 minutes you are in the centre of Lisbon! A lot of restaurants nearby, but we were lucky to get a room on the other side of the building, so it was calm enough at night. The wifi was fast and stable. The mattress is comfortable. We didn't have the kettle and hairdryer by default in our room, but as soon as we asked for them we got them for the whole period of our stay.

It was a quiet apartment, not facing the street so there was no noise but at the same time it was located very central in Cacilhas. Perfect size for 2 people for a few of days. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

FinlandIf I have to mention something, me and my friend thought the bed on the mattress was a little bit hard for our liking and the pillows were a little uncomfortable. Also, I think a microwave would be an important addition to the kitchen. Besides that, we have nothing else to point out and our stay was overall very enjoyable.
I highly recommend to stay at Cacilhas Guest Apartments because of the staff and the location. Sure, it's on the other side of Tejo River far from Lisbon's main sights, but the ferry is very fast and goes every 10-15 minutes earliest from 5AM and latest until 1am so for us it wasn't a problem at all. Staff is very friendly, helpful and warm, especially Rita and Daniela. Our flight was little bit late on our arrival day, well actually, the night of our arrival and we were very hungry. Reception and our apartment was located on the Cacilhas "restaurant street" but most of the restaurants were already closed or starting to close. Daniela the receptionist, was very kind and she asked one of the restaurants to prepare meals for us (even though they were already starting to close the kitchen) so we didn't have to go to bed with empty stomachs :)<3. In the apartment, everything was very clean and we also had air-conditiniong in bedroom and living room, which was really nice during the summer heat. We also liked the bathroom, it was stylish and spacious. We had a balcony facing the street, it was fun to sit at the balcony in the night and enjoy some wine while watching people come and go at the street :). As two female travellers, we felt very safe and taken care of staying at Cacilhas. We will never forget true Portuguese hospitality we experienced already on our first day, and if we ever come back we will definitely stay here again!

NetherlandsAt first it was a bit unclear where to park the car, but after some additional chats it turned out to be a nearby garage right from the start of the pedestrian area. So in the end no problem.
Up-to-date, family friendly apartment in nice, lively pedestrian area. Easy travel to Lisbon city centre by ferry. Warm welcoming introduction by receptionist. A good start of our travels in Portugal!

United KingdomNo outside sitting area in our annex.
This is a self catering apartment for two. It's easy to get to. The train and tube basically meet at the ferry terminal. Our move from estoril to Cachilas cost about 4 euros each. Having seen Lisbon before and not wanting to spend all our time going over the same ground but wanting to pop in. We missed the Belem tower last time and were always up for the meal of the day and were better than in the city. This was by far the most affordable price we could get in this area. ( And Lisbon)There doesn't appear to be too many options Cachilas sits opposite Lisbon, 10 minutes on the ferry. 30 minutes on the metro and train to Roma Areiro. We ended up in a building on the second floor. Lovely room mind your head it's a sloping roof. Lovely lounge and kitchenette. Bathroom good if shower cubicle is small. Change and cleaning after 3 days. The bar no longer exists but there's plenty in the street. Not sure if there's a breakfast option but with a kitchenette, Aldi etc we were content. There are many different types of rooms. Our room didn't have an outside area so we spent our reading time on the banks or in Paz park But we did have a view of Lisbon and the cruise boats Cachilas gives great options for trains to Setubal and elsewhere including Faro and The Algarve via the metro. It's having some building work done but they have discovered Roman remains so it's dragging a little. We had great food in Setubal, Cachilas and the residential areas on the way to Almada. Have a tram stop we will explore, you never know what you will find. The price for food and drink was very good.

Netherlands- the second bedroom was very humid, I guess through not enough ventilation.
- the location was amazing! Just outside were nive restaurants, but although the apartment is located above a pizzeria, you didn't have late night noise. The apartment is pretty quiet. Only noise from people walking up the staircase were noticeable. The fairy to the centre of Lisbon was only 5min walk away. - there was a terrace to have some beers as well :)
