Mold in the bathroom (common for the area due to high humidity on the island) power went out and was unable to contact host because phone did not work, my laundry got locked in the washing machine, my husband was able to turn the breaker back on

The price was still a bit high, but having a look around it seemed rooms in Ponta Delgada were generally pricy.

The outdoor pool is a nice spot to refresh or just relax with a book in the fresh air. The location is convenient and everything in town is at walking distance. Autonomous check in with good instructions.

Not the hostel's fault, but the kitchen/living room can get very dirty and messy quickly depending on the guests around... Maybe the common area clean-up should be done more often. Nothing else to point out.

The hostel was really beautifully decorated. The staff was very nice. And the pool was a nice bonus. Ver close to the center of Ponta Delgada.

The only improvement I would suggest is getting air conditioning in the bedroom. It was very hot even with the addition of a fan in the room.

Having stayed there before, we were glad to be back. The facilities offer ample room for all guests in the dining room and kitchen for your food storage. The rooms are themed and well appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool is a much appreciated bonus feature.

Super noisy from the flights (though this likely is an issue in all of PD). A bit stuffy and humid. Shower wasn't very hot.

Very kind persons working there and very efficient, my room was ready before the hour and I arrived late for check out for some reason (my bad) and even like this they keep the smile, good job! Everything very clean and cared. Nice big bed, shared kitchen and lounge.

there was no staff on site, but this was not a problem in our case. a bit tricky getting the bags up to the top door in the narrow staircase.

The room is not very soundproofed, and you can hear guests opening and closing their doors, and stepping in the stairs (stairs are made of wood, so they make some noise). If you sleep until late you will easily wake up at 11AM because of the vacuum cleaning. There is no air conditioning, but we didn't have any problems with the temperature because we went there on October when temperatures outside go from 17ºC to 25ºC. Anyway there is a fan in the room which we didn't have to use.

Starting with the check-in process everything was easy and fast. We arrived late but we could manage to complete the check-in by following the instructions sent to us without the need of anyone to wait for us. The triple room was spacious, comfy bed and pillows. Everything was very clean. We found funny that each room was identified by a symbol (our was the Mustache room). Nice view to the pool with big windows. The private bathroom wasn't inside the room but it was close enough. Shower is great (we got inspired by the wood shower floor). The shared kitchen is always clean and had everything we need to prepare our meals - microwave, stove, appliances, coffee maker. There's even a drawer for each room (identified by the room symbol - remember the Mustache). The fridge was big and we could store our food there in one of the shelves. And the lounge area / dinning room is very spacious and cool to hang out and meet with other guests. The swimming pool area is beautiful with chairs to sunbathe and areas to eat your breakfast or lunch with a nice pool view. Location is close to the center, and if you rented a car (which I highly recommend) you will notice that the street is very narrow and difficult to park, but surprisingly there's a new parking lot with a lot of space next to the hotel - this was definitely a plus.

It is pretty close to the airport so planes are heard frequently. The walls between our room to our neighbors were pretty thin.

The kitchen is convenient and very equipped. The staff are really nice, welcoming and helpful.

The noises from the hall were quite loud in the room, but it‘s a hostel, so this was nothing that was totally surprising to us. We enjoyed our stay!

Really nice Hostel in Ponta Delgada. Great for walking into the city. The Airport is also reachable within minutes with a taxi, so its easy to get there. We only had breakfast in the hostel but found everything we needed to make it in the shared kitchen. Checkin and -out was super easy.

We had one of the two rooms on the front of the lodge. It was very noisy at night if we opened the windows to cool off the room as there was no AC — noisy from the traffic as well as the other guests on the floor right above us who seemed to stomp back and forth across their room until midnight or later. The lodge is also under the flight path with flights starting around 0630am, which is also an issue if you leave the windows open to cool down the room.

The lodge (bedroom and bathroom) was clean, our towels were changed every couple dads, the beds were comfortable, it was nice to have kitchen facilities and to use the pool.
