Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SwitzerlandHaving the bathroom (only toilet and shower for the dorm) downstairs in the living/eating area, where guests of other houses are served breakfast can potentially lead to slightly awkward situations. It wasn't an issue for our group as we got up early enough.
Very clean, spacious and well kept. Used the self check-in, so never met the owners. It was super easy and useful though as I arrived earlier from the trail. Letting me get rid of my backpack and enjoy the afternoon around the beach.

We enjoyed the very attractive rooms and common areas like the kitchen, dining area and patio space in this lovely hostel. The location was convenient to local shops and restaurants. It was quiet, clean and the hosts were very responsive. We were able to order breakfast and lunch which were reasonably priced and substantial. It was a lot of fun meeting other guests who were also hiking the Rota Vicentina during our meals in the dining room..

Friendly welcome and show around by the owner. I had a bright room with small balcony to the patio. Liked the roof terrace and that you could hang you washed clothes there and in the patio. Basic equipped kitchen, Coffee/ tea and cookies there for all. 3 bathrooms for everybody, not new but clean. All good.

CanadaThe only thing would be the placement of the toilet in the private room facilities. For a man who is very tall it is quite awkward but really there is not much that could be done to change it.
The location is wonderful, easy Accra off the Fisherman’s Trail and the property had a great common area for meal prep or to store food. The courtyard is a nice space to sit and chat and it was great value. We needed a last minute transfer in the morning g and the hosts were able to coordinate that for us. They were very responsive and helpful.

Nice chill area with a super nice kitchen for cooking. Perfect after a hiking trip. 4 bed mix dormitory was comfortable. Nice little breakfast for 8.5 EUR.
