More historic information on the place would be great, but then again what we see as exceptional is no doubt taken for granted in Evora.

The location of this perfect place is ideal. It is just away from the main streets but close to all the sites. I was not expecting such an historic villa. There are wonderfull pictures and furniture throughout and while not used much the bar and lounge are ideal for an after dinner port before retiring to your room.

Our room gave on a courtyard which was neglected yet had the potential to be a quaint garden or used as a parking.

This hotel is centrally located in the historic town within easy walking distance to all the main sights including the Roman Temple, Chapel of bones and fortress like Cathedral. The Hotel had a museum feel to it with many common rooms and period furnishings.. Staff was very helpful and accommodating and the buffet style breakfast was varied and plentiful. .

We really enjoyed staying in a historic property in the heart of Evora's old city. Staff went out of their way to help us on several occasions. We liked the outdoor seating areas and the tastefully decorated public rooms.

Location, near center. Every time I went exploring, I always seemed to end up back within a block of the place. Antiques, porch with the plants.

A lovely, homey, renovated guesthouse with a lot of history and lots of steps. Good buffet breakfast, quiet, comfortable bed, and hot shower. Google Maps found it hard to locate, but once found, it was nice and central. In the old town of Evora, many things to explore but arriving and departing by foot from the bus and train station is difficult with luggage on the cobblestone streets (but doable) Thank you for my stay, I felt very at home, comfortable, welcome, and safe 😀

If you accept the hotel for what is, comfortably old-fashioned, there’s nothing to dislike.

The hotel has a fascinating, ancient history from 16th century, Évora’s first hotel in 1892 and a centre for spies during the revolutionary period in 1960s and 70s. Today it is comfortably old fashioned either delightful staff and great fire on winter’s cooler evenings.

Some smaller details need fixing, already transmitted to the owner, like a new juicer, the actual one is too noisy for such a beautiful breakfast room. Thank you for you sympathy and for being the guardians of this historic building.

The authenticity of the hotel and its team. The beautifully and well thought rehabilitation, preserving its soul and protecting what needs to be protected, but still assuring clients have all they need to feel comfortable and relaxed. A hotel for people who love History and Heritage and can enjoy silence and details. Breakfast was so good, with proper orange juice, never give up on real pressed oranges, and the diy is a very good idea, so guests can feel at home and ensure a zero waste policy. Decor filled with elements from the past, i had a great time and will surely return, for a longer stay. Thank you so much, keep up the good work!

The walls are thin, so if someone is load down the hall, you will hear it. Otherwise, the place is great.

I really liked staying here, and have recommended it to others. The building is so historic and beautiful. there are many extra rooms to relax in including a fireplace room where they light a fire at night. Our room was comfortable and a nice location to visit all the interesting points of interest. We had heat at night and there is someone on duty all day and night. And breakfast in the huge dining room is wonderful-so much to choose from.

The old windows did not keep out the church bell sounds, as beautiful as they are, when trying to sleep. But, changing those would change the appeal of the history.

The history of this building and the maintenance of it over the centuries is impressive.

Mainly to upgrade the locks in the rooms, so that they lock properly. Some furniture needs maintenance.

Good option, close to a small plaza, and walking distance to main sites. Good size room and bathroom, with good wifi and tv. Available terrace and living rooms to relax. Very friendly receptionist (Ines).

Very nice old traditional building from the 15th century, beautifully prepared for a hotel. Very special, wonderful atmosphere. We loved the stay there. The main place is just a couple of minutes away. Good restaurant close by. The staff is very helpful. Parking right in front was possible. If you are not expecting modern luxury, but you like something original, this is the place to go!

    Like in the historical movie.

The room was really tiny, and if someone really prefers comfort than historical experiences - better find another place. No lift, so the luggage must be carry on by the stair even for the reception (but what a staircase! Like from historical movie!). And the heating was strange: only few hours, so in January, the mornings were rather cold.

The hotel is in the old building and it is very stylish: old doors, furniture, atmosphere like from the real past. But it is comfortable. Especially high pressure o water under the shower! Divine! The real fire place in the lobby makes it even better. Great staff, very helpful. Breakfast in Portuguese style: just basic, without any vegetables, but it is the same in all hotels in Portugal that I was in. The location is in the very center of old town. For me - great.
