Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe accommodation was close to the attractions of Belém on foot. They answered all my questions willingly. My plane landed at night and it was easy to get into the apartment. The room was spacious and clean. The accommodation was completely adequate in terms of value for money.

SloveniaThe only thing I disliked was that there was mostly cold water in the shower and it took a long time for water to warm (if it did at all), making taking showers a little bit uncomfortable. Also keep in mind that it is on the 3rd floor, but if you don’t have that much luggage this won’t bother you.
I liked the location, it was really close to Belem and with good access to public transportation so you could reach the most tourist attractions in about 25 minutes. The contactless check in was also great, communication with the host was easy. The room is spacious, the area is quiet, so you can get some good sleep. They have a washing machine which you can use for your loundry and kitchen with everything you might need. Overall, good value for money.

Ireland- CCTV in common rooms - Window in bedroom door should be covered because of the light in the hallway shines through and lights up the bedroom. - Not meeting the owners. It was a bit to clinical. I thought the owners lived in the house too, but they're not
- Very clean - Big room - Balcony - Supermercado nearby - Busses nearby

United StatesNot the host's fault but at least this time of year, it takes a LONG time for clothes to dry. Some of my t-shirts and socks were still damp after 3-4 days of hanging in my bedroom, which I heated at night using the provided space heater.
Had an excellent stay. Bedroom was plain and basic, which suits me just fine. Used the very well-equipped kitchen several times, which was a big money saver. Felt safe and secure as 3 different keys are needed to get into one's bedroom

United States--Going up four flights of stairs with luggage after a long flight. There is no elevator in the building. --There is a surveillance video camera in the hallway outside of the bedrooms. --The Ikea folding chairs throughout the property were just not comfortable for my 191 cm tall body. --The rattan wicker chair in our room was broken. --There was no information on how to connect to wifi. I had to contact Renato to obtain the information. Fortunately I had cellphone service. Once connected, the internet works well. --Upon entering the building, there was no information about where to find the room. It is on the fourth floor, but we had to search for it.
This room is on the top floor of a multi-story building on the Travessa Guarda-Jóias in Ajuda. It is really well located for getting public transportation to anywhere in Lisboa by bus and streetcar. We never met owner Renato, but he was helpful and friendly by text. The rooms are simple, with Ikea furniture. There is a nice shared kitchen, and a shared bathroom for guests. There is a small room with a table, folding chairs, and a futon where you can eat breakfast and other meals. The room is located in a quiet residential area, and there is a supermarket nearby, but take cash if you are have an international credit card, because they don't accept international cards. We used the washer to clean our clothes, and hung them on our balcony to dry (we had the room with a balcony). We enjoyed our stay at the Belém Cozy Bedroom, and would recommend it to others..

GermanyThere was some kind of humidity issue in my room (bedroom 1); everything felt moist to touch and there was chronic smell of mold. Unsure if it affected other guests; the kitchen seemed dry and odourless enough.
The room was sufficient to spend the night and is close enough to monuments and sights (e.g. it's perfectly possible to take a nice walk to Belem).
