Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMy husband and I had a wonderful experience at the 34 GuestHouse. We stayed for 3-nights as I was competing in a tennis tournament that took place at the nearby Clube Tenis Setúbal. We loved the character and charm of the property, which does not give you the routine chain hotel vibe at all. Our room (the “Aveiro”) was very comfortable and clean, tastefully decorated, and the amenities great. All respect to the owner Sara and her staff who do a great job! They made us feel very welcome, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable; a true sample of excellent hospitality! Thank you so much! Morning breakfast arranged for us was super - freshly cut fruit, cheese/ham, omelet, mozzarella/tomato bruschetta, fresh bread/croissants, and a selection of cereals, yogurt, beverages, etc. Also most appreciated were the chocolate macaroons left in our room; a lovely touch. As the hotel is situated in an excellent central location, we took advantage to walk to sights and to dinner. The selection of fish restaurants is fantastic; we dined at “Casa do Mar”, and “Baia do Mar” which did not disappoint. The evening we had a hankering for meat, we had a fabulous meal at “Carnes do Convento”. Sights we found well worth a visit, are: "Fortaleza de São Filipe” which is easily reached from the hotel by a 30-minute hike, has panoramic views of Setúbal, the Atlantic, and the Troia Peninsula. The “Capela de São Filipe” is housed within the complex and is decorated with traditional Portuguese blue and white-glazed tiles; and “Casa da Baía” serves as an exhibition space, as well as having a café in a cloistered courtyard garden; and “Mercado do Livramento”, a lively atmosphere for foodies with an array of fresh fish and produce; and “Monastery of Jesus”, built in the 1490s as a convent for nuns, with a 16th-century church, small art museum, and restaurant attached. We definitely will return to Setúbal and will stay again at the 34 GuestHouse.

IrelandWow! Wow! Wow! We came for 3 nights, and stayed for 8! Every room is immaculately & luxuriously designed. Very relaxing, with an amazingly friendly team. We absolutely loved our refreshing stay in 34 Guesthouse. Setubal itself is quirky and interesting. Lots to do & see - and very friendly people.

FranceNothing, we will back and we recommend this place to all our friends.
We had a lovely stay at 34 Guest House. We were on honey moon and were treated like king & Queen with a romantic set surprise in an upgraded bedroom (sparkling wine, rose petals on the bed, chocolates). The room was perfect, clean and very comfortable, wonderful, with a nice bacolny. Sofia took care of all our needs via Whatsapp. She recommended nice restaurant around (Sem horas). We also recommend the breakfeast wich was a nice tasty buffet. We highly recommend 34 guest house and will come back for sure.

Traveled to Setubal with my son for 3 days. When we arrived Sofia offered us a welcome drink, juice for my son and muscatel for me. She offered us a fresh pashtel de nata. The room was nice and clean, nice balcony where was pleasant to have an espresso for room coffee machine. every day we got a bottle of cool water in the room. The bathroom was very clean and I like a lot smell of the shampoo and lotion. All shower products was made in Portugal and had very good quality. The room for breakfast designed with soul. It is modern and beautiful. We had an option to sit inside or at nice patio. The breakfast was very nice - fresh bakery, croissants, cheese, ham and jam and honey. For cereals lower was good choice. All kind of milk was presented and always a fresh juice. One day when we planned to go to the beach Sofia made for us a sandwiches, it was very kind from her side and showed respect and care of the clients. Sofia was very helpful and ordered for us a trip for wine farm Jose Maria de Fonseca. It was fantastic and very close to Setubal. I am very happy that met Carla, the owner of the hotel, at the evening Carla knocked the door and offered us freshly backed Pashtel de Nata. Love it. Thank you Carla for city tour, it was too pleasant to visit designer Joao Maria show room, who decorated the 34 Guest House fantastically beautiful. We visited also Setubal Market and city Hall. Thank once more, Carla for your hospitality and warm reception. For sure all guest will feel like at home.
