“The remote location was amazing, with the views to die for. Should the weather be better we would have used the outside space, including the barbeque area, more. The house is very old and traditional, ideal if you look for authentic Portuguese aldeia (village) experience, maybe less ideal if you value modern comforts and bright spaces. The host is very attentive and came all the way from Coimbra to fix an electricity problem we had. I loved the cave-style bathroom and the lack of internet or mobile phone connection (good for the kids and adults to disconnect). The walk up the cottage is not difficult at all, unless of course you have some mobility issues. We loved having a secret house pet - a tiny lizzard which keeps the house insect free.”
