Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was dated and almost like it hadn't been used for years. Curtain stained ripped and barely hanging on. Everything looked tired and needing renovation. However it was relatively clean and I was happy to share my room with a lizard. It doesn't at all warrant the price tag per night needs reducing signifcantly if I'm being honest. It was almost as if they didn't expect my arrival and put me in old disused room. The shower broke on arrival gushing water throughout the bathroom. This was swiftly fixed by them replacing the tap so 10/10 for their efforts. Bambooze haus being in a local neighbourhood expect noises from local roosters to wake you up in the early hours there are several of them constantly making noise. So my sleep quality was unfortunately poor. The location is in a shanty town which the pathway is muddy and down a dark alley. Plus some of locals weren't too friendly with me (i'm a westerner) I asked for directions to find my way out to the road and they purposely thought it was amusing to send me the wrong way. The hotel just needs to be a bit more honest with their pictures and renovate the rooms but I can tell finances haven't been kind to them. I stayed in a hotel for the same price a few days later which was new, clean and modern. Price doesn't reflect the quality being honest. But I genuinely wish the hotel well and hope they can update their rooms and be more honest with descriptions as the pictures don't reflect.
The staff were a little shy at first and not so receptive which made me feel a little uneasy. But they were helpful when there was an issue with the shower and swift to fix it promptly. Also brought me tea everyday which was a kind gesture and I appreciated. The building was an old style building very sturdy during the bad weather and gate to the property was secure.

United KingdomI don’t like giving bad reviews, but it’s only fair to warn fellow travelers. I understand the low budget and that standards can’t be high, but here the level was truly unacceptable. Very dirty. Very damp and with a smell of moisture. The bathroom was practically unusable. Also, the entrance was a bit too secluded, through a small path that was too isolated, dark and muddy and I’ve felt not safe to go there at night. I wouldn’t go back even if they paid me. That said, I feel sorry for the host who seemed like a nice guy, although he spoke very little English. But everything needs improvement.
Nothing, have left and switch to a different stay after one night.

PhilippinesYou have to open the door so that you'll have good access to the wifi. The way going to the location is too muddy. The location going to the beach is too far. My stay was supposedly 7 days, but I needed to look for other accommodation otherwise this place will just ruin my vacation. On my third day, I had to transfer to other property but as per their guidelines, my full payment isn't refundable.
The staff were nice.

Chinathe bathroom was pretty small and not really enough for 2 people but otherwise it was really good and really worth it
the staff were extremly helpful and welcoming they teach you and let you cook, they offered us bears and cooked for us nuddles when we failed to make it in the right way , the place had a natural vibe ,it was so relaxing hearing the chicken's voice in the morning , and we have got to witness the real life style of philppinos , its a good cheap place to be in , compared to the other hotels that are so much more expensive , the hotel was almost 8 minute far from the beach which was not as crowded as the beaches next to other stations . also the internet was working so well .

AustraliaAbsolutely nothing, we booked for a room that we didn’t have so we asked to the guy to have the room that we booked but he answered me something absurd…Never mind we stayed in this room and we noticed that the shower was not working. So what do we had to do was to close like the pipe to flush the toilet to have a functional shower.. And the biggest problem is coming..we had to use a bucket to flush the toilet, it wasn’t working well so I won’t explain the color of the water in the toilets, I let you imagine…I almost forgot to talk about the big joke that the guy told us. I asked him if I could get some toilet paper and he told me sorry this is the last one I have but you can buy some, go that way ! I didn’t expect that, I’m sorry but I’m client I don’t have to buy anything ! 6000 pesos for 4 nights to get that ! Scam.
Absolutely nothing, to be honest I would like to say that we got scammed !
