Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOriginally, my husband and l were booked into a standard cabin, but were very disappointed at quite how basin this was. We had stayed in similar rustic cabins, in a natural environment, throughout 5 weeks, travelling around Panama, for 40%, less, but this accommodation clearly didn't match the website photos, even for a rustic cabin. The cracked concrete floor wasn't a good start. We then upgraded to a family cabin, the only option available, at an extra cost, which was a little more comfortable, although a few basic touches would go a long way. Reading lights or lamps and towel rails. But l feel l must mention the noise. Firstly, from the dogs' rescue home next door with what sounds like packs of dogs barking at different intervals day and night. Then, there are the constant noises and horns from the large trucks and cars on the nearby busy road, again day & night. I would recommend ear plugs for a good nights rest.
There is a small bar, restaurant on site next the pool, which is pleasant and surrounded by greenery. The evening meal on offer, as there are limited opinions, served between 7pm - 8pm, was delicious and clearly prepared by a trained cook. Unfortunately, this doesn't extend to the breakfast included in the nightly rate, as this was very basic and disappointing on both mornings. The five monkeys on site can be seen through a large fenced off area, which was entertaining. Both the hosts were friendly and always available to help.

United KingdomI can't honestly think of anything that I didn't like... It's a very quiet place and probably best suited to couples. But having said that I didn't feel out of place as a single person and was made to feel absolutely welcome.
Monkey Lodge is very secluded and difficult to find after dark. Not a criticism, but try to arrive during daylight. The bunglows scattered through the property are lovely. They're not at all basic, but air conditioned (if needed), with fan. The bathroom facilities were good. It was a great place to relax and have a quiet time. The pool was great for sitting around in the evening and early morning. Food was brilliant - home cooked and excellent. The tours offered are incredible, in that they are relaxed, it never feels like there's a time agenda and everyone is accommodating. It very much feels as if everyone loves what they are doing - probably because they are.

NetherlandsWe can't say anything about their tours as they were a bit out of our price range. Due to the remote location it's fairly convenient to have dinner at their location, which did not meet our expectations compared to the price asked. As the place is close to nature we found multiple 6 legged visitor's in our bathroom.
Super nice garden with a lot of nice places to chill at or take a dip in the pool. Tasty breakfast with some affectionate (well trained) dogs around. They also take care of some really curious and cute monkeys that you can watch for hours. They also helped us find a way to a nice trail and saved us part of the entrance fee as we arrived with their guide.

United StatesThe hot water
It is rustic but peaceful and lovely, well maintained and the food is excellent. The room was fine, basic but clean and had A/C. Hot water was iffy. The host is delightful and the attention personal. The tour as really great, loved the waterfall hike and swim, some tubing and the Embere village visit. Excellent guide.

The people running it! Mia and Max are absolutely lovely. Their openness to wishes and wants, ability to make even a trip in the rain super fun and just their happy vibes are a joy to be around!

United StatesThe location - it allows for a lovely remote stay, but without a car, you have to rely on transport such as Ubers (hard to get) or taxis (can get expensive). The hosts were helpful in arranging transit, though! The restaurant didn’t have too many options we were really in the mood for, so kind of a bummer to be remote without a car for us. The front gate is also locked and you need a staff member to let you in and out. A little stressful when you’re leaving at the crack of dawn for a tour and waiting for someone to let you out, or trying to contact them to let you back in when you return (there is a bell at the door as well). It would be nice to have a way to get in/out ourselves!
The property is gorgeous!! There are so many birds flying around, the monkeys are so cute, and we even saw some bats sleeping on a palm tree. the bungalow was comfortable and each one is secluded enough to feel like your own little oasis. The pool was a delightful way to relax on our last morning there. There are some dogs and they are all so calm and sweet. The staff was all very friendly and helpful! This was a great base to explore the rainforest from!

United StatesWe had a very nice and cozy stay at Monkey Lodge. The hosts were very friendly to us and genuinely great people, they have several rescue monkeys they take care of on the property and also four lovely dogs! Also, we took the Gatun Lake tour and opted for homemade dinner offered by the accommodation— both were excellent choices, would highly recommend!

Panamabad smell of animal poop. too expensive for what it is. 160 plus taxes for a room without a finished floor, without tv, with a strong fecal smell in the facilities. If it cost about 50 per night the expectation would have been different

United StatesThe entire place smelled. The rooms were like concrete barracks with concrete floors and walls. We were locked in by a tall wall topped with barbed wire. When we arrived by taxi we could not get in, and nobody was there to let us in until we called. When our taxi arrived to depart we were locked in and could not get out to the taxi.
Food was OK.

Latvia1. Location! Be ready to spend a lot of time to find it! No any sign, no street name,no number, nothing! see foto below. 2. Noise! Lorries horn sounds in early mornings, construction noise coming from near villages in the afternoon. 3. Taxi costs to get there is +/-50 USD, from 55 USD. So, add 100USD to the staying fee's. 4. Small area around, you would be more less happy as a couple, over-wise "party in a bus"to be expected.
a piece of nature around small bungalows.
