The hot water cut out on Sunday morning

We came for a hen's doo and comfortably slept 15 people. Rooms were clean and had stunning views of the bush and beach. The communal area was fantastic for meals and we were able to easily order food via Countdown online shop or local take aways.

The only thing that could have done with some help would be that there were a few moths in the shower area, however bug spray was provided in the room, so an easy fix. :)

The cabin was adorable, quaint and very cosy on a rainy night. Plenty of space for two and a very comfortable bed as well. Charlie was so lovely, offered us a free upgrade and welcomed us warmly on arrival. Check in was super easy, and the view was priceless. Genuinely felt like we owned the island for a night as it was very peaceful and private. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the room and bathroom facilities for such an affordable accomodation, but it was practically spotless and there was chilled water waiting for us in the fridge as a nice touch. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels but this is honestly at the top of my list because of its uniqueness, character and value for money.

The bedding and towels provided were definitely clean, but inside the bus in general things were a bit stale and dusty - one bedside lamp didn't work, towel rail in bedroom was broken, washing line outside was black with dirt so our beach towels got accidently filthy. The Pirate Ship accomodation is definitely rustic and quirky (other units are modern cabins and quite different!) but would really benefit from a thorough deep clean and some minor repairs. That said, it's a lovely spot with friendly owner :-)

We visited towards the end of the season and it was lovely and peaceful during our visit. The Pirate Ship bus was spacious, with flush WC and good hot shower nearby. The natural habitat, morning chorus of birdsong and sweet smell of rum in the air from the distillery was most enjoyable.

possibly a few pavers between cabin and bathroom might of made it easier at night. we were missing cups from cabin had all the coffee making essentials apart from cups

Was a little grubby could definitely do with a good scrub, and some sort of ant control, we used the spray provided but still had our sealed container of dog biscuits ruined by ants.

Such a fantastic spot, beautiful and quiet, small but absolutely perfect for two people. So pleased we could bring our little dog. Amenities were good for two people, but would only have simple breakfast/lunch there as the kitchenette is small as described in the listing. Good price for Waiheke. Such an awesome spot to relax but close to everything you need too.

The location is nice and central to what the island has to offer, yet is secluded enough from the hustle and bustle. We loved waking up to the extraordinary bird song and the lush green flora and fauna.
