Lovely historic place with a wonderful roaring fire. Beautiful breakfast

John and Lynda were excellent hosts, very knowledgeable about the history of the property. The breakfast and other 'treats' that were provided exceeded our expectations and I strongly recommend the evening meal. This is an excellent place to stay if you are doing the Alps to Ocean trail, with a hearty breakfast and the option of the evening meal, a garage for your bike, and comfortable rooms. John kept the fire going which was much appreciated.

Super cute and homely. Great welcome with chicks, ducks and dogs. Lovely owners. Just how we needed to relax after a busy day biking from Omarama. Loved the fire and cheese rolls when we were too lazy to bike back into town for dinner.

Wifi was a bit slow.

We loved the history and that it was an authentic farm bed and breakfast with chickens running around and fresh for breakfast. I loved the cosy living room with the open fire.

Stairs quite steep to get to rooms and get luggage up and down. A rooster who likes to wake people early!

Very good communication with owners, lovely breakfast, right by bike trail, very comfortable rooms with ensuite. Fire going when we arrived, cosy lounge to unwind in. A garage to recharge bikes.

You have to be careful where you tread due to chickens, but they were no bother, cockerail is a good alarm wake-up.

Our room didn't have an ensuite, which we didn't realize when booking. Otherwise it was all good.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. They provided a lovely afternoon tea and cooked a nice dinner and breakfast for us. The bed was very comfortable.

Hospitality and friendliness of our hosts; homeliness of property with chickens and ducks roaming freely. All our needs met and enjoyed chamaraderie of fellow guests. Pleasantly surprised to discover many local places of interest to explore.

We arrived very late but John was still waiting for us. Gave us extra mattress and beautiful breakfast as well. We also saw full of amazing stars in the sky. It was a great night staying at western house B&B. Thank you very very much John!

We had such a wonderful stay at Western House. We booked it the night before after a few nights camping with our toddler, and we needed some R&R! We booked the studio which was so lovely and homely, with a great en suite and shower and access to own small back garden. We were greeted by Linda who took our son to feed the chickens, which he absolutely loved. The home made breakfast in the morning was also delightful. All in all, we were over the moon to stay here and hope we can come back again one day!

The sloping ceiling was a little uncomfortable - couldn't sit up in bed and there was nowhere else to sit. Perhaps a comfortable chair in the room? Or perhaps move the bed. I appreciate it is a very old, quaint house so I am being picky - overall it was lovely.

The breakfast was fine, however it wasn’t hot.

Our studio apartment was lovely, good facilities, tho bed a little soft. We loved the fact that there were free range chickens wandering around, hours of entertainment! John and Linda great hosts friendly, welcoming and informative. Beautiful space for guests to use.

Just a few minutes drive from Kurow. We loved our stay in the cute & charming studio. The beautiful rural setting was so lovely. We enjoyed all the friendly chickens, roosters & ducks on the property. John & Linda were great hosts and we loved our delicious breakfast. Thank you so much.

Really nice and relaxing, I enjoyed traveling alone and they really made sure I was well looked after, I even got to take a cutting out of the garden and am still enjoying the flowers days after.
