Can't think of a single thing that disappointed.

Orchard Cottage was a welcoming refuge. Peaceful, spacious, comfortable. Communication with host was excellent before and during our stay. Recommend the location for the Hauraki Rail Trail and the Seabird Cost. Good information for where to eat and get supplies. We highly recommend both The Bayview Hotel and Kaiaua Fisheries.

Loved the fact we were out in the country surrounded by fruit trees and cows but not far from the sea. Our hoste were very responsive and loved the fact they both droppped by to say hello but were very unobtrusive. Very comfortable house with plenty of furniture and supplies and nice little extras…could definitely have been comfortable staying for longer and enjoying the outdoor area (if we didnt go in middle of winter!)

Lovely peaceful rural location with turkeys & peacocks roaming. Barry was lovely and welcoming, took us on a farm walk to feed the chooks. Cottage was soo comfortable, lovely decor, equipped with everything one might need and cleanliness outstanding. We hope to go there again.❤️❤️

Well set out and fully equipped with everything you need, Sky TV, very, very clean and nice warm. Comfy beds and super warm bedding supplied for the cold nights. Barry was a great host and even took our boys out to feed the chickens, bringing home fresh eggs for breakfast. The outdoor area is really great for kids to play in and adults to relax.

Barry popped in enquiring after our welfare and supplied us with fruit and eggs! It was very interesting to hear about local issues attractions. Resectful and caring, Thankyou! As we are members of the scientific Shorebird Centre, Pukorokoro Miranda, we will be back!

Excellent for a weekend away, close to AKL yet far away to feel like a holiday. Property very clean and tidy, warm, hosts very generous with providing of milk, nice tea and coffee, and even things like salt & pepper, oil, marg etc! Very peaceful location, kids loved the friendly chickens and collecting the eggs. Fed the cows apples, and could see the new lambs from afar. Hosts very friendly and accommodating.

The place is amazing. The facilities are tidy and perfectly cared for. Cable TV and streaming are available besides the good Internet connection. Barry was super friendly. Great place for a family to chill during a weekend or more.

I met one of the owners Barry on the first day who was really helpful getting me oriented around. Very nice spacious cottage where everything was included. I liked the open kitchen, living room with the large TV. What really surprised me was the speed of the internet for such a rural location - will definitely take the laptop next time! The shower and toilet were good too and bed super comfortable.

Couldn't figure out how to keep the outside lights on. No big deal though we could of just asked.

Was nice to get extras considering there was no near by shop. Water, juice, biscuits, milk, lots of coffee, salt, sauce, all sorts. And the outside table.

Beautiful and tranquil setting. very relaxing and comfortable, clean and spacious. Delicious fruit right off the trees. 10min drive to the nearest swimming beach, 20-30min to Auckland and Thames. Fabulous hosts!

We had a wonderful time at Anita and Barry’s place. The garden was beautiful and the house was very clean and had everything we needed. My daughter had a lovely time collecting eggs for breakfast and exploring the farm. It was also really close to the Pūkorokoro shore bird sanctuary which was what brought us to the area. Close enough to Thames to go check out the market or get lunch.

Fantastic place to stay, Barry and Anita made us feel like we were at home, we were in the area for work and really appreciated the comforts of home, not to mention the fresh eggs and vegetables and the overall great hospitality. The cottage has everything you need and is in a quiet and relaxing location and was very clean and tidy. We will definitely be back and recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere nice to stay in the area 😊
