No atmosphere. Pretty old and needs updating. Our door didn’t close properly so when we came back after house keeping had been it had actually been left open all day.

I didn’t like having to go through the main entrance every time we left and come back even though there where others doors that could be used. Also very hot in the rooms ( uncomfortable) could not get the ac to go cold.

The whole Hotel is very rundown, needs paint, carpets are very old and decor are super old as well. The facet of the Hotel is old. Doesn’t pass the impression of a modern , new place Also breakfast was very very basic, juicy finished never got a refil, also some of the food were missing for quite long, we we t down for breakfast around 8h30 the orange juicy was empty, rash brown and bacon took a long time to get another batch, also the price for a barista coffee was so expensive, $7 for a coffee!!! Not even Starbucks charge that much, not a surprise no one was having that.

Hotel looks very old and don’t even have adapters for travellers.

The parking is very secure. They have electric gate which closed at night. Receptionist gave me a code if need to open the gate.

Felt carpet was a bit tired and the curtains needed replacing especially the nets that had a tear in them.

Reception staff were welcoming. Beds were very comfortable.

We bring our mountain bikes with us, and although a room was provided for their storage, it was in the board room and possibly not as secure as something designated for this purpose.

We really enjoy the outdoor spa pools, and the rooms are great too, this time we appreciated the two nice chairs in the room for relaxing. For us, our time in Rotorua is not just about going out and about, but also being able to relax in our room and the facilities provided.

When I got the key from reception, they didn't tell me anything about the hotel's facilities that I can use like gym, spa spool or swimming pool.

Beds were comfortable. My kid liked the swimming pool and the spa pools.

Broken elevator, in room safe already locked (so I couldn’t use it), worn furnishings, no access to the room except by the front door, automatic exit gate opening worked intermittently, pool in need of maintenance (tiles)

Pleasant staff but they didn’t provide good directions about parking near my room (no map), why my room was changed from the tower to the ground floor (elevator not functional), or when the bar and restaurant would be open

Firstly, if you prepay, add 2% as they will charge the credit card and add 2% without the option to pay by other means. Booking.com should point this out. Annoying. Secondly, the place is almost deserted when we were there. The bar wasn’t open. The restaurant was dark. Thirdly, the lift didn’t work. We were on the third floor. A lad helped us carry our luggage up but we had to carry it down when we checked out…He may have been working, I dont know. The lift wasn’t fixed after our two night stay, we were told the mechanic was coming from Hamilton, obviously not Hamilton NZ. Fourthly, the aircon in the room made lots of noise but didn’t do much cooling… if any. We had to sleep,with the window open…not nice in Rotorua when the smell can even wake you up. We didn’t try the pool or spas, but they looked just ok. Would we stay there again?…no. The whole place is In need of some TLC. Sorry Copthorne Rotorua.

The beds were super comfy. Recommend the mattress…see photo. The car park was secure.
