Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThere's nothing I didn't enjoy about my stay! There was (what sounded like) some construction going on next door but only during lunch hours - nothing that interrupted my peace. Maybe in winter time some covers could go over the parking spaces to prevent being soaked in the rain when unloading/packing up.
The view is spectacular! Wether its waking to the sunrise, listening to the waves crash along the beach while taking a peaceful moment to soak in the presences of the moment. The shower pressure is spot on. Then you can wind down in a heated room with AC. Provided is also a stove top with pots and pans to make your own meals - I highly recommend the complimentary buffet breakfast that is held daily in the restaurant. There is definitely something for everyone!

New ZealandThe restaurant let the place down. Food was standard & some of mine was cold & inedible. $48 for 2 way lamb which was chewy & vegetables(beans & peas) were overcooked. The buffet breakfast looked promising the next day however, no teabags were available (only flavored ones) & everything was cold..shame really because the venue itself was really lovely.
The room was outstanding.. room 89- 1bdrm villa. The views were breathtaking! The room was clean & had everything we needed.. we slept with bifolds open all night & listened to the waves crashing & the smell of sea air filled the room..Bliss! Parking was just up the hill if you didn't mind a wee walk..or the cart picked you up to run you to your car or restaurant. Driver lovely & friendly. Very private which was exactly what we wanted.

New ZealandRoom spacious, clean and had all the stuff we needed Opted for the massage and the coconut bath, friendly staff and such a good experience If I have to find one con that would be the surcharge on the paywave. Doesn't mind that but it wasn't listed on the paywave machine that there will be a surcharge if you paywave Overall a beautiful place and must do if you are in Auckland

New ZealandMost of the staff seemed to need some training - it took five attempts to book a table at the restaurant between three different staff. A bit embarrassing going to a resort in NZ that rates itself as upmarket but there are warnings and signs everywhere about charges for stealing cutlery etc.
Beautiful dinner -hugely improved. shame the waitress was chewing gum. We stayed in a studio instead of a chalet this time and it was very nice, had a bath and very comfortable bed and was handy to the restaurant.

New ZealandDisappointed with the evening meal. My husband ordered, the Angus ribeye but it was very tough ,not what he expected but he didn't send it back. Unit 21 was a disability room which was not required or requested, we expected a shower cubicle as shown in the resort pictures. Shower curtain was marked and dragging on the floor, mentioned this at reception but were told there were no other rooms. But when we couldn't get the TV to work we were moved into a chalet. We would have been more than happy to pay the difference if offered by the male receptionist.
We found the breakfast adequate, the scrambled egg was tasteless. Kamal gave my husband a tray of pastries for his birthday during the breakfast, which was a very kind gesture and very thoughtful. Kamal gave exceptional customer service trying to fix the TV, very apologetic for it not not working. Hence the move to a chalet, which was just perfect. Would definitely stay again and book a chalet, with the friendliness and customer service from Kamal mainly and other staff.

New ZealandNot really a moan. Just comments that may help future guests on what to expect. When in a villa, you are reliant on the buggy service to get around. This is marvelous but can be await during breakfast and dinner time. But one is on holiday, so who cares! The chalets seem to have space for parking a car. But they are located in a more established part of the resort. Where the villas are located in newly established and the plantings need time to grow.
Everything. The views were awesome. The food in the restaurant was marvelous The drinks are well priced. Villa was spacious and clean and newly constructed. The staff were excellent and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic with a variety that would satisfy most people. Recommend to anyone who wants a getaway.
