Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkSushil (the host, might have spelled his name wrong) is very kind, helpful and serviceminded. Great atmosphere, and perfect quiet central location in Pokhara. Best value for money we've had in all of Nepal, and that says a lot. WiFi is perfect, and there's even backup for when the power cuts. Laundry service is flawless and the room is very clean.

NorwayI would personally have liked a bit better amenities like hot water shower and such.
The view is stunning, and the lake beautiful. Sushil, the owner, is a very chill and friendly guy. The energy there is relaxed. Centrally located as well! You can also see the sunset!

Owners are lovely, very helpful and friendly always available for questions or just a chat. Location is excellent, up a small hill off the main drag with fantastic views of the lake and close to all shops , eateries, bars and Lakeside walking strip. Rooms are large and comfortable with a seating area and opening windows with fly screens. Area is quiet at night. WiFi is good. Upstairs communal area has lots of seating, hammocks, kitchen area and fridge. Shared bathrooms are clean with a lovely hot gas shower (hot water whenever you want it). Booked 3 nights, stayed for 10. Excellent value for money. Would not hesitate to come back.

IndiaBathroom could have curtains in the windows especially since one of them is towards another room and curtains are only in that room side of the window. For me it was ok, but for couples and female solo traveller it might be uncomfortable.
Truly peaceful stay. Cozy rooftop with two hammocks. Free water refill. Friendly host family. Great internet. Good chair and desk in the room for working. Pleasant view of fewa lake from the room.

CambodiaThe kitchen needs to be shown a bit of love (I e. cleaning). All garbage you leave behind is burned on site.
Location was very convenient (it's just a very steep hill). Having the kitchen was very useful. The rooftop is nice. The room was fine. Had some mosquitos but they left me alone mostly. Was very grateful for being able to keep my luggage there while I was off to Singa Tatopani. Sushil & his wife are very friendly. The free water is invaluable, helping to reduce plastic waste. It's good value for money.

United KingdomLoved this place! I stayed here for around one month and could have easily stayed longer. Room was comfortable and clean with a nice community area. The owner Sushil and his family were so lovely and especially Sushil who helped us organise lots of local things, booking bus tickets, planning treks as well as an amazing experience paragliding with Sushil himself! Great value for money and a great location. When I return to Pokhara I will only want to stay here.

NetherlandsI stayed in Peace Guesthouse for a few weeks, but I have had some weird experiences in here. First when I arrived everything was okay and the owner seemed really nice. He offered me a ‘cheap ride’ on his motorcycle to the Begnas lake, which at the end seemed to be the same price as a taxi would have costed. He also necessary wanted to stop a few time and have some tea, while I didn’t ask for that. Beside this, the man started to get a bit too much into my privacy. He walked by the rooms and always looked through the curtains and the window into my bedroom, which is for a solo female traveller absolutely disrespectful. You just don’t do that. This man has to learn how to respect the privacy of his female guests for sure! I still don’t know if this was out of too much kindness, or that he is just a bit a perve. Also when I checked out, he wanted me to pay more, because the price of the room I stayed in suddenly got more expensive than I had booked it for in the first place on booking.com. Because I extended my stay it suddenly seemed to be more. Also than he charged me RS600 for laundry, which is way too much and not a fair price at all. During my stay also the electricity, hot shower and WiFi were often not working, because everything worked on solar energy, so during the rainy days: don’t go here, because nothing will work. The common kitchen was nice to have, but was never cleaned and also didn’t provide some stuff to do the dishes with, so pans and plates were always a bit dirty. The water in the bottle for the guests is NOT filtered, it is just water from the tap, so be aware of this. This maybe also explains why I and some other guest got sick. Also be aware that the owner is a paraglider, which is cool, but he was always asking all of his guests if they wanted to do paragliding with him. It started to feel a bit pushing after a while. It seems that he just want to make money out of everything. Beside all of this, the location is nice.
The location is okay.
