Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United Arab EmiratesThe hotel is used sometime by German bus tours for stop over to have breakfast, meaning you will have very long queue at breakfast to reach the buffet, more than 30 minutues, therfore to be in the safe side have your breakafast early .
The hotel is located in nice area where you could walk in nature, it has has spacious room, nice swimming pool and gym facilities. The breakfast was good and worth having it in the hotel, the staff are polite and the check in and out was very fast

NetherlandsThe vicinity to the motorway takes away a bit of the allure, but it is not a problem at all. If you are not interested in the park and don’t have a car there is literally nothing you can do in the neighbourhood and public transportation is minimal, especially in the weekends.
Nice hotel, nice wellness, very nice swimming pool with warm water. Breakfast with good variety. Restaurant serves good and abundant food. Close to the park and they rent (electric) bikes

The swimming pool! You can see the trees outside while swimming😊 Best swimming pool of all van der vak hotels that we stayed on. The park is next to the hotel.

BelgiumIt's not cheap, but honestly it offers a lot of value, especially the room, bathroom, and food offering.
We booked this hotel as a 1-night stop-over. The hotel looks unassuming from the outside, but the inside is superb. The facilities are clean and modern. Our room was large, the beds comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean (with both a bath and a separate walk-in shower). Staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast is excellent, and the restaurant offers basic but tasty food for dinner. At night, we didn't hear any noise from the nearby highway (even with our window open). There's a large park next to it, where we went for a long walk before returning home.

MexicoSince we need to report the travel expenses, every time we did request the proper ticket. Just one night the waiter did not provide it, I guess she was new and didn't know about how to get the ticket after we paid
It was an awesome stay, The entire staff was great, friendly and supportive since I had to extend my stay an extra day with a short notice. The room exceptional ! The food and drinks were absolutely fantastic. We had a great conversation with Lynn, regarding the cultural differences between Mexico and Netherlands It was my first visit to the country, I did stay in the Van der Valk at Dordrecht 3 more days...
