Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PolandAny of my foreign debit cards didn't work, I had to take the cash out of ATM. Hotel felt untidy for the price. The same for overall comfort and room size, but compared to similar rooms in the city it was standard I guess.
Right in the center of the city, close to everywhere. Cat "porter" was funny and really beautiful.

IrelandThe staff was a bit rude and the payment method was pretty bad. ALOT OF RULES. I had to go to the ATM to take money to pay the reservation because the hotel hadn’t accepted my card for the payment. Also, they asked 20 euro for the keys.

United KingdomThe building is a classic building that develops in height, therefore make sure you are ok with carrying your luggage up the steep stairs (I do not think there is an elevator).
The location is great. Very central and only a 10 min walk to Amterdam Centraal station. Very quiet, considering it is in the middle of a bustling road. The staff also let us store the bags at the hotel on the day of check-out until our train departed, which allowed us to explore the city a bit more :).

United KingdomWe were on 5th floor and stairs are very steep. By the time you climbed the stairs to your room you had to have half hour to get your breath back.
The hotel was situated in a good place just outside Central Station and close to town and everything you needed.

ItalyThe room and the bathroom were really small, especially the beds that were against the wall leaving no room to move. Attention to the stairs which are very steep. No elevator is present. Overall good value for money.
Very good location, near the main train station and the center of Amsterdam. Excellent sound isolation, our room was facing the Main Street outside were people would pass by the below bar all night but I could sleep without any issue.

IrelandThe worker opening my door at half 9 the morning I was leaving. Where is the respect for me and my sons privacy, the beds where small for a single bed My 10 year old son taught the same, the toilet was very small I had to pull my pants down with the door open sit on the toilet then close the door, we where on the top floor 74 steps going around in a swivel and the last 10/12 steps where almost like a ladder.
Location was 10/10 that's why it was that price in my opinion

TurkeyNo elevator may not always be a problem but it is a problem if you must climb 90 degrees 47 stairs. There is a carpet on the floor so it cant be cleaned properly and it shows because they were too dirty. The room is very very small so it is hard to locate your luggages.

IrelandThe bathrooms had a bad smell that got worse day by day, there was strange stains on the walls. There was a surprise €20 key deposit that had to be paid in cash, it was given back when key was handed back.
