Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe wire bristle cleaning brush for the BBQ needs to go. The little wire bristles come off. If we knew, we would have bought you one without wire and left it for you! We should’ve bought a bottle of tomato sauce too! Maybe next stay!
We loved the view of course and the ease of acquiring the hire car. The bbq was awesome to cook up locally bought meat and fish. The unit had everything needed for a week including dishwasher and washing machine. The walk to the historic Kingston area was easy but uphill on the way back so we only did it a couple of times. The tv was great and had enough channels. The wifi was amazing. Although we were told only 2GB it ended up being unlimited for the stay which is definitely a positive! Everything in the apartment was well looked after. They share their bananas too but unfortunately for our stay they were still green. Recycling well organised too. We would definitely stay here again.

AustraliaThis was not our first visit and we did not want to be in Burnt Pine. Hiwever you do need to drive to everywhere you want to go. You could walk down to the Kingston ruins but it is a steep walk back up and you have to walk on the narrow road. A second fan for the bedroom would be good. We had to carry it back and forward from the living area and it was quite bulky.
Stunning views from the living area and front deck over Kingston and Emily Bay. Short drive into town. Comfortable with everything we required for a self catering stay. Our hire car was organised through the property. Our plane was many hours late after being diverted via Auckland. Both the man from the property and the man from the hire car were at the airport to meet us. By this time it was dark and the man from the property got us to follow him back to the property. The entrance would have been hard to find at night. As it was Sunday when we left we returned the car to the airport and left the keys in the ignition when we flew out.

AustraliaNo fly screens on front windows and therefore bugs and moths came in at night when we opened the windows to let in the lovely cooling breeze. However, there were fly screens on the back windows and door, so we could open the bathroom and bedroom windows and door at night. No problems during the day with bugs coming in open windows.
Amazing views and location, so peaceful and relaxing. Best views on the island, we will definitely stay here again when we next visit. Very clean throughout, well equipped kitchen, including a picnic basket with blanket and utensils. Clean and spacious bathroom with plenty of spare towels including beach towels and a washing machine. Comfortable bed and pillows and lots of storage space. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff.

AustraliaThere was nothing that wasn't excellent (for me). Talking to travellers in neighbouring apartments - everyone without exception was very impressed with their apartment (only 5 Units in the complex)
I loved all of it. The apartment contained everything I needed. In addition, the location and view was second to none (for me). The location may not suit everyone - it is somewhat remote from the main town centre. A hire car is essential to get to/from the accommodation (for restaurants/cafes/grocery shopping etc). Owing to the hilly terrain and walking - the location would suit the more "serious, fit and experienced longer distance walkers".

AustraliaThere was nothing that we didn’t like about the property, but a suggestion would be if we were staying longer than one week, we feel we would need a dryer, as the weather, although it was mostly sunny, was never really hot enough to even completely dry our bath towels when they were hung outside. And the only other thing would possibly be a lamp in the lounge area, so as to be able to read a book at night without the very bright lights having to be on. But apart from those small suggestions, we absolutely loved the property.
The property had the most magnificent views over Kingston and the ocean and islands, that you would only see from a lookout. It was a clean well looked after apartment, and I would recommend it to anyone.
