Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe restaurant in the evening offered 3 choices, of which one was vegetarian. The vegetarian choice on the final day was just a few fried vegetables with a bit of cheese and at ~$12 was over priced and left us hungry. Drinks choices started on day 1 with white wine, red wine, beer, by day two was red wine and beer only, by day 3 only red wine was available! It felt like the restaurant wasn't being stocked and was barely functioning by the end of our stay which spoilt an otherwise great experience. We should have driven 15 minutes into town with hindsight and the staff were obviously embarrassed at how bad it was. Our hammock in the room was within a screened area and whilst this protected against insects meant it was too hot/humid to use which was a real shame. But we used the outside hammocks by the lake instead.
We has a fabulous room on the top floor, very large and well designed. We particularly loved the shower with large (screened) open windows into trees. Free canoes and lake shore access was great, as were hammocks near the lake. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the standard of food from the restaurant was generally good - although fell very short one day.

The place is really faboulus, you can feel the nature strightly when you cross the doors. You have direct access to the lagoon where you can swim and use kayaks. In the morning you can observe birds. The staff is very nice and helpful.

United KingdomThe Wi-Fi struggled a bit but honestly who cares when the place is so great
What didn’t I like? The hotel is surrounded by maintained jungle well landscaped to accommodate the place. Lush green and magical with coconut and sour orange trees The rooms are beautiful- the cleanest I’ve stayed in Mexico with sheets so soft I was wondering the thread count. Lovely hammocks The breakfast included was generous with good options I had lobster tail for dinner which was delicious and the veg was perfect The atmosphere was lovely and I had wonderful conversations with some others guests there. The staff are a mix of local and international who went above and beyond in hospital- I had some conversations with the staff about the sour orange trees (new to me) and later at breakfast the lady came over with a grin and placed a jug on my table. I just said “naranja…. :)” and she grinned more and walked away. It was so extra thoughtful and really made my day. There were few kayaks to use which adds to the complete bargain of this hotel The dock is rustic but lovely with well handrailled entry and exit with rope thoughtfully put on the wood stairs to help with grip underfoot in water. If they hadn’t been fully booked we’d have sunk the cost of our other hotel and come back. Loved it so much. So peaceful and immediately relaxing Regret not taking more photos but we were too busy enjoying ourselves the phones just didn’t twitch out in our hands

CanadaVery far from the Centre, but easily accessible via Taxi. The private road is unfinished and gravel road, so difficult to ride a two wheeler. Due to humidity, the floor of the rooms can get damp and slippery.
Lost in nature and its beauty. The lagoon access is amazing, Kayak is available all the time, good hearty breakfast. Staff was amazing and very helpful towards all our requests.

Extremely beautiful property and amazing staff. The food was great as well. Everything was aesthetically so appealing and we wished we never left the place. The staff was very interactive and we spent hours speaking to them about travel experiences etc. A special mention for a girl named “Hope” - she did everything possible to get us the best dinner. She was extremely sweet. We loved kayaking and the views from the Kayak were spectacular.

AustriaTake mosquito spray with! Beware that the cabins have no windows (but mosquito net, blinds and shades) so you hear the nature very loud and clear. We loved hearing the sound of different birds and crickets in the bed, but it may not be for everyone.
Location in the jungle and direct on the lagoon is very calm and non-touristic. The road to the place was really ok and not bad (like many of the reviews say) at all! All the staff was super friendly and kind. The breakfast was delicious. There are a lot of birds to be heard so beware of the cool background “music” you will have :D Having own private access to the lagoon with a lot of sitting opportunities was great. Kayaks are free to use! I loved everything about this place!
