Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDrinks were a little pricey but our fault for not asking in the first place. Expect $300mxn per basic cocktail. Adds up quick when chillin in the wonderful cabanas and soaking up the sun all day!
Located by the top restaurants on beach road. Beautiful beach!!! Great rooms and excellent service by the entire staff. Would 100% recommend.

IrelandRestaurant at the property is fairly expensive. Had few drinks and brunch on day 1 and the staff charged me 20% tip on the bill included with total amount. Normally if you go in any restaurant they give you a choice or you can pay cash as a tip. Here it was added to the bill like any other food option and that too 20% especially we were sitting there for few hours and had good few drinks so the bill was high anyways then normal.
On the beach, excellent location. Little cottages makes it just magical. You walk out of the room straight on to the beach

United StatesWhen we checked in the first night we had a dryer on the wall attached in the bathroom that we used. The maid came in and cleaned for us the 2nd day. And when we went to use the dryer that night it was gone. I was told that they found that it wasn’t working while cleaning. They brought us another dryer but it was odd & left me very uncomfortable. Who removes things from a room mid-stay? We added a 3rd night for the same room as I originally booked. Kevin said I needed to get the deluxe room option or move since he gave me a free upgrade. There is no such option. So we packed up everything at 11am. We went to the beach & I asked him to let us know when new room was ready. I went to take a nap at 1 & find the cleaning lady in the room with the beds stripped. Let’s just say I was very upset. They didn’t have the right to enter our room it was locked with all our luggage. At 3:40 I finally messaged him to ask if our room ready. The new room was totally private away from traffic with 2 sliding glass doors. I preferred it over the original room. Having an upgrade thrown in my face and then having no room for four hours when there were 14 rooms available on booking.com was just plain rude. No one moved into our old room I paid $711 for 3 nights & was treated rudely by Kevin is WhatsApp. You don’t get to enter a guests room without permission or remove things for no reason.
I live in mexico & wanted a tulum vacation. We loved the room when we checked in it was a little different than the one I booked. It didn’t have the direct view the ocean, it was bigger and had some cabinets and benches at the bottom of the bed. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. It came with coffee orange juice bread with jelly and fresh cooked eggs and more bread. Not to mention the yogurt with granola and fruit. The staff was great & the coffee was hot. We were directly in front of the restaurant. We loved the hotel so much we decided to add a night. This place was perfect in so many ways. Like the old Tulum.

United StatesCan't really think of anything we didn't like, but for some this may be an issue: There are no walking paths in the hotel. When you walk out the room, you're walking on sand. People with mobility issues may find this challenging.
We loved cabin #1, right on the beach. Literally watched the sunrise from our window. The staff at BT Live Tulum is amazing. They really know hospitality. Even though its "at the party zone" it's fairly quiet in the evenings. So you can walk a short distance to the party if that's your thing, and retreat back to sound sleep.

CanadaThere was no running water in the morning and nothing was done about it even after we mentioned it so we all had to use the public bathroom in the restaurant and no one could shower. For the price, it's just ok. The area is very very expensive... The restaurant across the street, Funky Geisha (made a to go order as it was pouring rain and my parents are older) was $200 Canadian for 3 basic noodle dishes, a California roll and an appetizer chicken skewers, no drinks.
Nice location on the beach with a convenience store across the street and all the shopping etc. The breakfast was plentiful.

United KingdomSome amenities could be upgraded, such as the shower or window blinds, but honestly, you barely need anything if you wake up with a Caribbean Sea view, palms around you and a bit of fresh breeze.
The location, the experience, the staff and the breakfast were all perfect. We had the best Christmas ever at BT Live Tulum and are hoping to come back one day. Wi-fi was working perfectly for us, including on the beach. They had fresh beach towels everyday, enough sun loungers and beach beds for all guests and security made sure no intruders entered the property from the road or beach side.

SloveniaThe free continental breakfast is really basic. The prices of food and drinks in the bar / restaurant are quite high (like everywhere in the zona hotelera), but there is a small fridge in the room so you can bring your own drink.
The location, the beach, free parking, friendly staff, fridge and A/C in the room.

Austria… However, I have to admit that the first night I booked was horrific due to the diesel generator next to hungalow 11 which kept me awake all night. However, thanks for booking I made an upgrade to the seaside apartment where I had no whatsoever noisy disturbance and enjoyed the stay very much! The included breakfast consists of a few fruits and a tiny amount of yoghurt and filter coffee .. everything else like eggs is quite costly to order separately….
well, overall, this is a wonderful hotel located directly at the Caribbean with white sandy beach, palm trees, baby sea turtles and so on. the prolongation of my stay was executed by the one of the hotel managers who was very helpful, BUT: see further below…

CanadaGreat little beachfront hotel. We didn't really expect that much as the price was really good, but were pleasantly surprised. Location is great, both for the beach and the strip. It's close to the clubs, etc, but not so close that the sound ruins your sleep. In fact at night after the beach club shuts down, it's pretty quiet. Staff were great, spent many hours on the loungers, enjoying the ocean and a few drinks and snacks. The hotel is in a nice spot on the beach, closer to the water than some others, and it's a smaller hotel which didn't play loud music all day, which you get from some of other bigger "day clubs" All in all, we would definitely go back.

BrazilThe beach bar closes at 5pm and the kitchen at 3pm, I thought it was early. Also, depending on the room you stay in, you'll probably hear the sound from the club next door. In the morning, there was no water in the room.
Super well located hotel at Tulum Hotel Zone, walking distance from all the clubs and restaurants. You can relax at the beach and sleep listening to the ocean.

Canadawe stayed 7 days and only got hot water on 2 of them, so be prepared for cold showers. water pressure is also very limited. these weren’t deal breakers for us. since it was off season the restaurant and bar on site were closed after breakfast, that wasn’t advertised, but was overall fine cause you can go anywhere for food, just a little disappointing. also as mentioned above, everything in tulum is $$$$ and the fridge is TINY, you can fit a few drinks and maybe some left overs. aka you must eat out. finally, very small details that I would expect for the cost of the hotel, are things like no glassware in the rooms and no ice available. you really get the bare minimum and are paying for the location.
overall excellent spot and would go back. couple things to note, we were here in the off season so 4/7 days we had the entire place to ourselves. you are right on the water. truly incredible. the cabins are cozy and the AC is great. the absolute seller is the incredible included breakfast - so worth it. keep in mind you are far from town so if you don’t have a car you are forced to eat close by and everywhere on the beach strip is $$$$$. we had a car (totally recommend as long as you’re a confident driver) and parking was easy and reliable. we rented bikes from the property one day and got massages another day. we also loved the livelihood of the party zone and being able to walk the street and people watch at night. you can juuuust hear the music/base of the near by clubs at night but this didn’t keep us up at all.
