Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MexicoThere's only one room for bathing and using the toilet and it's very tight, there's not much sense of privacy (i mean it's a hostel but still, the curtains for the bunk bed didn't cover all the gaps, for example, and it's a lil hot in the rooms)
Staff is nice, met nice travelers, overall had a good experience.

ArgentinaThere isn't any place to work comfortably, because the terrace doesn't get enough WiFi signal and it sometimes is a little bit too dirty. The kitchen is okay, but there's no room for eating or sharing, and the bench for sitting is hard and uncomfortable. Even though it's supposed to be a 24-hour hostel, the host went to bed one night and some of us had to get out or check out early, so we were all late (we found his room later on and woke him up).
The beds are comfortable. The terrace is big and gets a lot of sun. The kitchen is cleaned everyday, even though the cleaning staff sometimes takes their time to do it.

Great location… such easy access to the city/metro.. perfect for exploring. Comfy beds in great little dorms. Lovely communal area. Staff were lovely and kept it all clean and tidy. Really good value for money!

NetherlandsDo not book this on booking.com. even though there are more reviews saying this. I took the shot, and they also didn't have a bed for me. You can call them instead to make the reservation.
The staff was helpful finding another place to stay.

ThailandThe secluded roof terrace room is up very steep stairs (almost a ladder), and far away from everything else that is located on the second floor. They definitely use the space as efficiently as possible, but the lockers don't fit much inside them. The fan in the room is positioned badly, so it couldn't circulate well. They told me the room gets cooler at night, but it really doesn't, and the only window opens into the kitchen. You basically have to leave the door open to get any cool air, and that feels a bit sketchy because people can be right outside on the terrace at any time, and it seems one of the staff members lives in like a closet-sized space up there as well. The kitchen isn't very well, stocked, and the only water they offer is from a spigot connected to the sink. The bathrooms stay fairly clean, but the stall spaces are SO tiny. I tried, but literally could not function in the 'womens' shower, so ended up using the 'mens' shower every time. The WIFI is also terrible in that rooftop room, but is great pretty much everywhere on the 2nd floor.
I loved the location of this hostel - in the heart of Roma - close to good food, bars, shopping, and metro access. It is a very unique hostel for sure, the smallest one I have ever stayed in XD I think if I had been in any other room, I could have rated it higher, but the terrace is very nice, and the balcony is small, but great for a sit.

CanadaThe dorm with the balcony is very crammed and loud until late at night but the other rooms are way better!
Always enjoy my stays here, this place deserves higher reviews! Rooftop is nice to relax on, kitchen is sufficient, beds are comfortable and its one of the cheapest hostels on the app

CanadaI extended my stay but since Hostelworld charges up front for reservations, they get priority and I was forced to find a new place to stay, having to leave my food behind at the hostel. Apparently this is being worked on by the app and isn’t the hostels fault though so I can’t let it hinder my review
This place is way better than the reviews would leave you to believe! Apart from the dorms being super small and crammed pretty tightly when all 6 beds are taken, I enjoyed my stay here. The kitchen isn’t super equipped but sufficient, the rooftop terrace is nice to chill and relax for a bit, the curtains on the beds are a huge plus, and only 190 pesos on weekdays, 205 on weekends, it’s the best cost ratio for a hostel on booking.com

FranceThe shower and the bathroom, are extremely tiny. Anyone a bit big wouldn't fit in the shower and there are not enough toilets for all the people staying at the hostel.
The staff is nice and helpful, and the curtains in the bunk beds are welcomed for a bit of privacy. Lockers in the dorm were appreciated as well.
