Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThere was a noisy construction site in the house next door which we were not aware of.
We had a great time at Nah Uxibal. The property is just as described, the beach is very private and beautiful. Tanning beds were always available and snorkeling equipment, kayaks and paddle boards were at our disposal. Both Javier and Jeanette were super nice and helpful. Also we got an upgrade to the beach house, which had direct beach access and a full kitchen equipped with all the necessary things. I would definitely recommend the Nah Uxibal if you are looking for beautiful nature and privacy.

United StatesThe location was perfect! Very intimate, private and cozy. The private beach was perfect, no loud noises from clubs or bars.. we slept with the sliding door open all night and you couldn't beat the sound of the water throughout the night. The owner of the location was very good at communicating with us and very welcoming. Javier was also very attentive to everyone's needs , they had kayaks (single and doubles) Paddle Boards, snorkeling gear for us as well! We will most definitely return in the near future.

United StatesThe only negative was the sargassum which is all up and down the coast. The hotel had a guy taking it up and hauling it away every day all day. It just comes back. Sisyphus. Other properties weren’t even trying. I give this place credit.
Wonderful location. Private although there were other people. Lovely casita right on the beach. Great kitchen, better than many we have been in. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very good. Great shower, one of the best. The front patio was so nice. We spent much of our time there. They have chairs, a table, and umbrellas. We liked it here and wished we could stay longer. We will return.

United StatesThe ceiling fan could go a little faster.. maybe I was doing it wrong on not breezy humid nights it’s a necessity, but the breeze is great in KIN casita we were in.
Comfy bed and I’m picky! Fridge Stocked with some basics for the morning which is perfect for the the location since the bay only has one restaurant and you don’t want to go to the grocery after flying. Kitchen well stocked with cookware. . Lots of beach loungers, paddle boards, kayaks, toys etc. we didn’t use out door kitchen since my sister lives a few doors down, but I would have used daily, even with our lovely studio space!

United StatesThere is nothing that could have been done, but we happened to stay during New Years, and the neighboring house had renters, or residents who had a NYE party which included a DJ blasting music from 7pm until 8:30am New Years day. No exaggeration to say it ruined our night and next day - we planned to stay in to take advantage of the property and were bombarded by the constant extremely loud dance music for over 13 hours. The owners let us know on the 30th that this party would happen, but by then there were no places left to celebrate in town. They seemed unaware of the scale of the party, although some other guests seemed to know the extent of the party from the neighbors themselves. We also were bitten by either ants or sand fleas every night on the beach.
Nah Uxibal is a special place in a special area of Tulum. Good for families, or those who like a chill area rather than the popular beaches or tourist areas, it's a nice secluded area outside of town. We felt safe, the bed was very comfortable, the space is generous, and the view is outstanding. The property managers, Javier and Veronica are sweet, helpful and kind. General things I learned about going to Tulum: 1. bring water shoes 2. bring bug spray 3. Eat tacos - they are amazing everywhere we tasted 4. Anyone telling you that you are getting a deal is probably trying to sell you something that is real, but exaggerated. 5. There are a lot of people there to party and make a ton of noise. 6. All the cenotes are not the same, but they all have something to offer - get to them early. 7. Ek Balam is beautiful 8. Check twitter for local news 9. Pay for the inclusive tours to save time 10. Driving is safe

United StatesThe seaweed bloom that hit while we were there was disappointing but we understood that the hotel didn't have much control over that - and it wasn't hard climbing through it on the beach to get to the water. We wondered why the hotels in the area didn't jointly hire someone with machinery to manage the seaweed onslaught. As it was, each of them had their own people out trying to remove it manually - maybe that's just the way they do things and a mechanized solution was not available. Aside from that, the plunge pools were a bit too dirty for us to want to jump into them.
The property was beautiful albeit a bit dated. We intended to go au natural (without air conditioning) and it worked very well - we were perfectly comfortable with the sea breezes. In that environment you expect a few things to age a bit more quickly - a little rust here and there. But the entire property is quite beautiful - gardens, pathways, and the beach and bay of course. This was our first trip to the area and we loved it. Nah Uxibal was the perfect place to stay and we intend to return.

MalaysiaWe struggled with the lack of air conditioning. We had to have the windows open a lot which was noisy when it was windy and the sea breeze did occasionally leave us/the floor feeling sticky in parts. That being said we didn’t find the fans were strong enough so maybe a strong fan in front of the bed would have solved the issue so we could sleep with windows closed. The property also dated and could do with love in some areas to bring it to an excellent standard - the curtain railings were rusting, there wear tears on the sofa, some of the door knobs were coming loose and the amenities in the kitchen were average with mismatched dinner sets, scratched up pans, broken cafetiere etc. There were also a lot of condiments left in the property which are kept for future guests- while this is meant to be helpful some of them appear to have been left out for awhile and it did give a bit of a budget feel. The beach really is the selling point of this property and with a bit more love the entire experience would be exceptional
The apartment was right on the beach which was beautiful. It is a perfect escape from the business of Tulum and the beach is as nice if not better than those on the hotel zone- there are sufficient loungers and on a sunny day it is truly stunning. Jeanette and Javier were so accommodating and we also loved the little dog Suki!

The kids loved the pool table, al fresco dining, and of course the bay! We appreciated Jeanette and her staff who made sure we were happy and comfortable during our stay. Difficult to find - always book shuttle more than 10 hours in advance or take a rental car and give google all details. And - recommendation - a bit bigger sign at the road. Compound looked like pure palm-tree-forest. By day-time super, at the night a bit more difficult. to find. But all the stay was just super and super friendly!! ... better to rent a car. You are more flexible.

United StatesThe neighbors just one or two feet to the north of the property are very noisy disrupting the peace of the beautiful, serene bay; by projecting loud dance music in all directions that even earplugs cannot dismiss for hours during the day and into the wee hours of the morning. Solomon Bay should be preserved as a pristine area of natural peace….such a disappointment to see that the Tulum ‘party scene’ has contaminated it….is there not a way to protect it??!
This property is awesome! But the neighbors make ones stay unpleasant
