Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ArgentinaThat I couldn't stay longer
I felt very welcome by everyone, even the guests. We all bonded through our passion for traveling. Cass, Jack, and Diego were amazing hosts. I really enjoyed getting to know them and sharing experiences, mates, and sunsets with them. If I ever come back to Puerto, I'll definitely stay there again

AustraliaThe location is great, but being between la punta and the town centre, there aren't any ATMs nearby so you do need to catch a collectivo (only a few minutes) into town or walk to La Punta to withdraw cash. That's honestly the only negative.
A nice quiet place about halfway between La punta and the centre of Puerto Escondidio, only a short walk from Mercado Zicatela. The owner and the other guests were all great and it really felt more like a home than any other hostel I've stayed at. The aircon in the rooms is pretty good too.

United KingdomGreat Hostel, Diego is a friendly host who is always around to help and chill. This hostel feels more like a home if you are wanting something a bit more lowkey. Was meant to stay for a week and ended up staying for 2! Very good deal for what you are getting, an uncrowded and comfy place to live. Thanks Diego

United StatesAlthough I did travel solo, it would be nice to have some social activities with the other guests!
I thoroughly enjoyed stay at Mi Puerto Beach Hostel! I actually have stayed twice and would go back again! It is perfectly in the middle of La Punta and Zicatela, where you can easily walk to either sides. The rooms are great with air con, access to a fully equipped kitchen, and very comfortable lounging areas. There are a few rooms so you get to know the others staying, but can also have some alone time while traveling if needed. The volunteers are very friendly and Diego, the owner, is great to chat with, too! Definitely recommend!

IrelandThis hostel is fantastic for solo travellers! I had been travelling Mexico for 3 months and this was the first place I immediately made friends with everyone staying there. The owner created a very welcoming atmosphere and organised group dinners as well as just chilling out with us in the evening. This made it very easy to sit down and get to know everyone. I really appreciated it as I found the other hostels lacked this atmosphere. The place was also very clean and comfortable.

GermanyNothing.
I ended up staying for many more days than originally planned: comfy beds, clean bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, always few, but nice people to chat around, close to Zicatela beach and the lovely Mercado with cafés and restaurants and at night you can go out and come back safe and sound walking home from the clubs. Perfect place for solo travelers to get to know people. Was lucky to enjoy both very tasty and sociable Sushi and BBQ night, even for a vegetarian like me 😉 Diego (the owner) really wants you to have a great time and I felt very much at home. There is a lovely yoga place right around the corner as well. Had a great time! Thank you very much 😊

GermanyThe hostel is new and because of that some things are still missing. Some ideas: lamps next to the bed, lockers, curtains for some privacy in case you want to read and not disturb others.
Everything is new and very well made. Nice, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Very clean.

I tried 3 hostels in Puerto and this is undoubtedly the finest I've experienced! Diego, the host, is truly exceptional, creating an atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The WiFi connection is notably robust, making it an ideal spot for those needing to work remotely. Perfectly situated, it's a mere 10-minute stroll from the breathtaking sunsets at La Punta and equally close to the vibrant nightlife in Zicatela. Despite its proximity to these attractions, the hostel maintains a tranquil and serene environment, perfect for relaxation. Its location, just 3 minutes from the beach, adds to its charm and convenience. I highly recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Puerto. The cleanliness of the facilities and bathrooms is impressive, and the kitchen is wonderfully equipped, catering to all your culinary needs. This place is a true gem for travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

United StatesDiego, from Brazil, speaks excellent Spanish and English, and is a fountain of useful information. He throws parties and BBQ for his guests, and is a chef in his own right. The hostel is casual and comfortable, and you just walk down Cedro St. a hundred meters to the beach. La Punta is a 5 minute walk. Mercado Zicoleta has restaurants overlooking the sea, lots of fruits, vegetables and meat - but the vegan restaurants are at the opposite end of this well-ventilated market, from the butcher shops. The "Collectivo" runs you into town in about 5 minutes, for twelve pesos: big supermarket, bus stations, organic food in Rinconada. So the location is splendid and the atmosphere easygoing. Great price!

NetherlandsReally nice stay here! At first, a little hesitant to book here, because the place just opened up. But so happy I did, the beach is really near (just at the end of the street) and it’s walking distance from both la Punta and Zicatela. It’s still super clean and Diego does everything to accommodate you! Also very happy with the A/C in the rooms and gooooood and reliable internet (finally!)

SpainThe power was out for more than 12 hours on my last day from around 7pm. I couldn’t use the wifi or charge my phone before my following trip…plus the AC was not working and it was terribly hot in the room. Also, there was supposed to be free coffee every morning and they run out of it and didn’t have any during my 4-day stay.
Really small and familiar, the vibes were great and the staff was really friendly! 3min walk to playa zicatela and 10min to mercado de zicatela with many places to eat!
