Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MexicoMeli Melo is my fav spot for a Jungle relaxing weekend. The magic of the tropical jungle and the comfort of an off the grid cabana, Meli Melo is a very special place in Tulum. I visited with friends for a weekend of introspection and enjoyment of nature. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals, and the owner, Quentin is the greatest host. Don’t miss the brunch!

NetherlandsThe road up to the accommodation is a sandy road with potholes. If the car is really small or very old this may be a problem. We had a small rental car (Renault Kwid) and were a bit worried at first but all went fine.
We hoped to find a little paradise in the jungle and couldn't have landed better. The accommodation is great, very comfortable and in a beautiful surrounding.

GermanyWe’d like to describe our stay with a slightly altered quote from a certain 80‘s daytime television show: Original text: In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire: the A-Team. Our version: In 2024 a german family went to México for a vacation they thought they deserved. This familiy promptly stumbled across a maximum amount of problems on unfamiliar ground. That day, after a journey full of unfortunate incidents, they survived as guests of a kind host in the jungle. So: If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire: a palapa at Quentin‘s Meli-Melo P&B!

IsraelThe place is deep in the jungle and having a car is a must. We’ve been without a car for the first few nights and decided to rent one because the taxis are minimum 500 pesos for the city center.
Very unique stay. Very comfortable and the owner Quentin is extremely helpful and nice. We enjoyed it very much.

SpainThe road to the place is very bad, with big potholes, most water-filled so you don't see how deep they are – consider a 4WD if driving here. Breakfast quite pricey (250 pesos), although delicious and super fresh. This home is up a steep flight of stairs with further stairs to the bed loft, so folks with knee or balance problems should be prepared.
Wonderful vibe. The place is clearly built and maintained with love, and Quentin is a great host. No window glass in the house, just mosquito net all around, so it feels like sleeping outside. Comfy hammock in the house. Host quickly resolved a water issue. Breakfast and communal kitchen available. Plenty of drinking water and beach towels provided for free.

MonacoWithout some kind of wheels, you cannot go anywhere. Noise and pollution from the railroad construction nearby but that's not the hotel's fault.
Beautiful landscape ! Nice host. Kitchen available for the guests with all the utensils.

United StatesNote to anybody who might wander out of the compound and down the main road like I did (looking for birds): the neighbor just past Cachito de Cielo has a large and aggressive German sheppard guard dog that charged me and gave my leg a serious chomp. Outcome could have been much worse had the owner not been there to call the dog off. Listen for barking and carry a big stick!
Quentin has obviously put a lot of love and effort into turning a bit of jungle into an inviting retreat. The breeze through the screen house was amazing. Lots of bird activity. "Best breakfast ever" according to 10 y.o. daughter. Really appreciated the quick responses to my queries. Quentin accomodated our late arrival, catered to our requests throughout the stay and didn't complain as our 2 y.o. had a few middle-of-the-night outbursts.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing!
Everything! The palapa and facilities like the kitchen we could use, the little pool the pigs that could be fed organic waste, the amazing, ginormous comfy bed, the hammocks, sounds of wild life at night, experience of sleeping like native, the beautiful natural construction and the feeling of well-being, being close to nature, always outdoor. Also there was no mosquitoes in the middle of the jungle! Quentin was fantastic host and we could count on him! We took a breakfast and you have to try it- it is delicious and an experience on its own!

United StatesNothing, everything was amazing. Unfortunately by the time we got there we had not eaten all day and the stay is very far from other restaurants due to the very bumpy road. But the bumpy road also makes it unique!
Delicious breakfast with all organic and healthy foods from their garden!

United StatesThe road getting in is a little rough, though it really just added to the adventure!
This was our first visit to Mexico and we can't wait to come back. The location and house designs made it feel like our own secluded jungle adventure. The breakfast was excellent! Everything was clean and comfortable.

United StatesThe fans in the palapa were outdated and noisy for sleeping. Could definitely update those for a better nights sleep. Driveway is tough to navigate in a small car.
The brunch in the jungle was top notch as was waking up early with the birds and nature within the jungle. We had a fantastic stay and Quentin is an awesome host with great visions for his property.

United KingdomThe road was the only issue for us as we had a hire car. I would strongly recommend a 4x4 or car that has a good gap from the ground.
Quentin was a great host. He has created a really special place. A real spot where you can switch off and be in nature. The facilities were all good, and the homes are beautifully crafted.

AustriaHaving the outside humidity also in the inside was challenge for me. Some people commented on the road to the place. We do not think it is as bad as described. Yes I was glad I saw the underground also before so much rain dropped, but the road is ok, even after thr rain. We had a small rented car and it was no problem.
The place is a whole concept of sustainability. For those of us who amazes that topic is definitely worth a visit. It was done with love and everything is linked as a system. I was concerned about the weather and being in a palapa without an a/c... this was no issue. Breakfast and the breakfast juices are awesome. Quentin is super flexible in every possible way so that makes the stay nice and easy. Loved the bathroom.

United StatesThe road that leads to the property was very uneven and slow going. we needed to go very slowly.
I loved our little cottage in the jungle. we were lucky to get the cottage with a detached kitchen. Everything we needed was available. there was good privacy, low noise level, nice jungle gardens and even chicken and pigs to help 8n composting. Quentin is a great communicator, super laid back host but knows what is needed to make our stay fantastic. Even beach towels were available.
