Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe way to get there by car can be a little challenging but really slowly with a rental car we had no problem.
The owner is friendly and passionate about her land and her place. Really it was full of good vibes and good energy. The room was super clean and we felt very comfortable. We are recommending 100%!

United StatesThe property is located 1 mile down a rough dirt road which some modes of transportation will not drive down. Not many options for eating or getting around if you don't have a car.
The owner was very kind to get us some medicine as one of us was sick. Room was basic and comfortable and the jungle setting was lovely; we did hear the Howler monkeys.

United KingdomWe had a wonderful stay at Los Susurros and would happily return. We visited Palenque ruins, walked into Palenque town (30 mins) with most of it in a perfectly lit walking path, enjoyed a delicious breakfast and watched fireflies dance in the garden after sunset. The property has lovely gardens that are visited by macaws and other birds. You feel connected to nature in a very comfortable and well-appointed room. A truly magical stay. Recommend visiting the Roberto Barrios Cascades as well.

United KingdomNo shops nearby - would have been useful for rehydration drinks etc.
This was a very quiet spot in a garden at the end of a long rough track and away from the main road. The breakfast in particular was fabulous. My wife was unwell on arrival and they offered medicine as well as plenty of water and tea whilst she recovered. It was very easy to walk 10 minutes to the road and get a collective mini-bus to the palenque ruins, and similarly easy to return to the property from the ruins. They ordered a taxi for us to get to the bus station early for our onward journey. There were a couple of restaurants within walking distance for dinner (both italian and offering good food). We enjoyed the many cats and dogs around the property, some of which slept on the bench outside our room overnight. They were doing some great work with rescued spider monkeys.

NetherlandsThe dirt access road is narrow and full of potholes. Perfectly doable in a normal car, though, you just have to drive slowly and carefully
This place is really lovely, a quiet oasis in the jungle on the edge of Palenque town. A semi-detached bungalow was clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good, there are a couple of restaurants for dinner in walking distance. It is only a few minutes drive to the ruins. And there are also the rescued monkeys in their own enclosure in the garden, you can visit them and the staff are happy to tell you more if you are interested.

United StatesOne night there was loud music playing at one of the neighboring properties for a while. We were worried it was going to go on late into the night. Fortunately it finished up around 9:30PM.
We had a comfortable stay for 2 nights. We liked the location with easy access to Palenque ruins. There were also a couple of restaurants nearby. We had dinner two nights in a row at Paraiso and it was quite good - excellent pizza! Adriana made fresh and hearty breakfasts for us each morning and it was fun chatting with her about her work rescuing the monkeys. We enjoyed all the dogs and cats too.

MexicoThe last 500 meters to get to the hotel are a bit rough for driving and there is very little choice of restaurants within a walking distance, so we had to make do with whatever was available. The mattresses were a bit too soft for us, as my partner is quite heavy. The kids were a bit upset by the absence of the TV, but the Wi-Fi signal was good enough for us to show them some cartoons on the laptop.
This is an unusual hotel, as it is literally located in the jungle (it would not be easy to find it, if it were not for the kind and detailed instructions of the lady who runs it, who has been in touch with us from the start), because it is a place where they rescue monkeys to release them back into the wild. When I booked, I thought it would be a great experience for my kids and so it was. We had a tour of the rescue centre and could see monkeys both in cages and running free around us. Our bungalow room was clean and good size, even though it had quite a rustic look (in line with the image of the place). Breakfast was plentiful and with sufficient choice, considering it is a small hotel with only a handful of rooms. We felt personalized attention from beginning to end.

Czech RepublicThe accomodation is kind of “eco style” I would say. So no hot water in shower, high humidity in the room, not a hotel-like feeling. But it has its vibe and it is actually amazing! The road to the property is very steep and bumpy, better if you have an SUV. These are not complaints, just be prepared for that!
This place was amazing! In terms of accomodation it could be better, but if you look at as on a monkey and other animal sanctuary, which offers to stay overnight and spend time in nature, it is a perfect place. The owner was very nice, she rescues monkeys, cats and dogs, which you can find running happily around the whole property. There were 2 sweet cats waiting in front of our room every time. At night the room is nicely cold, you can hear only peaceful sounds of nature. Breakfast was amazing. We also met very nice people there, this is such a lovely, friendly place! It is also very close to the archeologic zone!

United KingdomOne of the nicest and most interesting places we’ve ever stayed while on holiday. It’s right in the jungle, with many many wild animals and its few minutes away from the ruins! Adriana ( and everyone else around) was extremely friendly and very nice to talk to and learn how she helps the wildlife in the area. Also, on walking distance you get great food and drinks.

In all if my travelling, this is the most incredible place I have stayed. It is a paradise. You must stay here if you enjoy animals. I was so happy to wake up to cats, dogs and monkeys. I don't think you can find a nicer, more genuine host. I hope we meet again Adriana. My wife and I thought you were the loveliest person. Your work with monkeys is inspiring. We miss you. SwitzerlandThese convenient accommodations are subsidizing the howler monkey rescue project of Adriana. At day time the "Saraguatos" are roaming freely on the same property and can get very curious of any new arrivals ;-) hence you might have some very unique encounters with those gorgeous animals. This plus it's proximity to the archeological zone make this the best accommodation option in Palenque! Oh, I forgot to mention the delicious and vast breakfast.
