Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesTulum is the most expensive vacation we have ever taken and we have been all around the world! More expensive than Hawaii even. That surprised and disappointed me and will definitely deter us from returning.
Loved the staff and location. Had a wonderful family vacation!

United KingdomThe spa was average.
Wonderful staff. Lovely room. Beautiful beach. Even though there was seaweed the staff did their best to clear it. Juan Carlos was very helpful in arranging excursions with a lovely company. Also even though there is just one restaurant the food options and variety of evenings were great - it didn’t feel like food got boring.

United StatesThe only thing I didn’t like was that everything there was really expensive. I didn’t find the food to be the best value.
La zebra was a very small boutique hotel in a great location just a few minutes walk from the clubs and the main restaurant area

United StatesNot in the property’s control but traffic getting to and from centro Tulum can be bad along the beach road.
Beautiful location on the beach and excellent amenities. The service is impeccable and thoughtful — especially from Marco who was always one step ahead of our needs.

Switzerlandafter paying the check in the beachbar, the waiter run after me, he complained that we didn’t gave him enough tip and he want’s more. It is very rude and inappropriate in a 5* Hotel. The restaurant staff also made faces if the tip was less what they excepted. The prices are quite high anyway. I had the feeling, they think so, if I can afford a 5* Hotel, I must give them after every order the expected 25%. That’s why, I don’t think that I will ever return to this hotel.
- you can rent bicycles in good condition, full day is only 10 $ - helpful reception staff - location - private beach - nice interior design - room is clean and cozy - restaurant food

GermanyI came all the way from Berlin, Germany to Tulum. La Zebra was a great choice but what really made it stand out was the health and wellness Pavillon overlooking the ocean. I had two exceptionally great classes (Yoga and HIIT) that really made all the difference. There are quite a few nice boutique hotels along the cost but none of them offers a workout experience with ocean view. I would recommend it any time!

Great facilities and staff! We traveled with a 2.5 year old and we’re looking for things to do in Tulum. The options were limited but one of the locals recommended us to check out La Zebra beach club. We went and spent about 6 hours that day and loved it. They had an area for adults to lounge and enjoy (beach cabanas, restaurant, pool) but they also have an area specifically for young kids. Playground, coloring area, etc. We loved it so much we booked our las night stay there and got a beachfront room with plunge pool. Our only regret was not having stayed there more nights. We absolutely loved it and we all had a great time.

LuxembourgOur first night the A/C was not working well, but the next day Carlos quickly resolved the issue. The pool upstairs was pretty disappointing (not sure if it was even open) and the pool bar didn’t appear to be staffed at all. Finally, during our stay the seaweed was pretty bad, which made it difficult to enjoy the beach. Although this is not within the control of the hotel, they did their best in removing as much of it as they could. Just mentioning it here for future customers to be aware of seaweed season in this part of Mexico.
We loved our stay at La Zebra! The rooms are chic and comfortable, the food is great (and probably the best coffee bar in Tulum right in the hotel!). The staff is absolutely incredible, so attentive and helpful, while not too intrusive when trying to relax on the beach. Special thanks to Francisco for the amazing first impression during check in, helping us get settled, and to Isaias who helped arrange a last minute scuba and snorkel tour in a nearby cenote. We were met with such kindness from the entire staff. I cannot recommend this place more and would love to come back soon!

United StatesThe hotel staff, location, quality of food, decor, and peaceful beach vibe are all exceptional! The beach staff and especially Marco bring strong skills to make sure you enjoy the day and are never without a cold drink or delicious food while chilling directly in front of beautiful blue water and sugar sand beach. The room air conditioner works very well and the housekeeping staff are discrete yet keep attention to detail to ensure you are comfortable in your room. The front desk staff are very capable and are ready to help with any question or issue that might arrive. Private hotel parking is available and is located directly across the street. Great place for a Tulum vacation for couples or families without the loud obnoxious party scene!

Excellent experience during our stay at Le Zebra in Tulum. Staff is super friendly and efficient, from check in to room service and concierge. They know how to take good care of guest. The check in process was quick, we loved our sea facing room with hot tub. Room service is great, everything is delivered in almost a few minutes. The location is perfect, a quieter part of town yet close to everything. The beach is gorgeous, they keep it clean regularly. We enjoyed the beach club the most, we spent most of our time in one of the many sun beds on the beach, enjoying amazing cocktails and food from the restaurant. The restaurant is one of the best in the area, we loved the breakfast there. Overall a great experience with clean and well maintained rooms. However the highlight for the property is the beach club and the restaurant. Cannot wait to go back! Highly recommend Le Zebra when in Tulum!
