Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe fireworks, but this is going to be an issue anywhere in town. Bring earplugs.
Great super comfortable room. We loved sitting and having coffee on the balcony every morning. The included fruit and oatmeal and popcorn was a great touch. Staff was super friendly, especially the cleaning lady. The neighborhood was great, still within the old town but outside of the touristy center. Overall a great stay.

United KingdomThe complimentary breakfast items were a nice touch, but it would be nice to have some milk to go with the cereal/oats 😊
Lovely guesthouse tastefully decorated. Very clean, spacious and comfortable room. The fireplace was lovely! A short 10-15 min walk to the town centre and lots of good restaurants very nearby. Highly recommend.

New ZealandWould be good to have a couch in the downstairs area, but we spent most of our time out exploring san cristobel so not a big deal.
Room very nice, clean and comfortable. Drinking water, tea/coffee, fruit and oats all provided. Host was friendly and helped us out with any questions whether about the accomodation or san cristobel. Good location not far from main square and a street with lots of restaurants. Overall really good value for money.

New ZealandSuch a beautiful little oasis. A small guest house, with a great set up that allowed you to mix with other people. Our room was perfect, it had plenty of additional blankets for those chilly nights. Down stairs we had a fire place with supplies to have your own fire. It was a lovely unexpected surprise that the kitchen area was equipped with complementary breakfast cereal and fruit. It catered to all our needs Thanks for having us

United StatesI wish there was a more of a functional kitchen on the property, making it easier to cook for ourselves.
Liked that it was a unit inside a larger complex. Water pressure and water temperature was great and consistent. Loved the fireplace in each room.Shared terrace and fresh fruit. Also the general location of the hotel was great. Owner was communicative and responded quickly. Onsite staff was really helpful, responsive and kind.

IrelandLoved staying here, the place was very clean and comfortable! Within walking distance to the main square of San Cristobal. There is a kitchen/ common room on the terrace, so that is handy. Quiet, didn't hear noises from the street as the rooms are at the back of the property.

CanadaSpacious clean rooms with fridge and coffeemaker. The rooms are at the back of the property so there was no road noise. Also no dogs or roosters! The communal dining room had breakfast ingredients like oats, granola and fruit and real chocolate. It had a lovely sunny terrace to eat on and just relax. The location was about a 10 minute walk to the zocalo or market, just outside the main busy central area so was quieter yet not too far to easily walk to good restaurants in the evening. Very quick communication and always helpful and friendly. Excellent accommodation in a tourist town with lots of choice. It’s no surprise everyone before us has also rated this guesthouse so highly.

AustraliaWould have loved for milk to be available for breakfast, as well as the granola refilled, i only got it for one morning.
The mountain views, the location and such comfortable beds, the staff were also super friendly. There was also a fireplace in our room which we didn't use but would have loved to. There was breakfast included - Oats, banana, oranges and sometimes there is granola too, although no milk unfortunately. Free water to refill.

United StatesNot much! There was only a couple there, so no one to make friends with as a solo female traveler. It would be a great place to bring a group of friends to as there is also a nice garden and common areas.
Beautiful room that was more like a studio. Cute decorations, spacious. Close to everything and the staff was really nice. She checked on me, offered to help me start the fire in the fireplace, and even hand washed a jacket when I asked if I could use the clothesline.

SpainCould do with a full kitchen, only has microwave and fridge. No sink or oven/hob. This was definitely lacking. Also, we had the front room and there was a consistent gas smell. Lastly, there were occasionally ants. However, this is due to the climate and location, not the guest houses fault!
We felt extremely comfortable here. San Cris can be chaotic but this really felt like a little haven. The price is incredibly reasonable, the rooms and apartments are spacious and comfy. Furthermore, the staff are on hand to help you with literally anything. Special thanks go out to Angelina! We felt at home here and would highly recommend it.

I loved everything about this place! The room was perfect - quiet, comfortable bed and pillows, shelves, open fire, plenty of space, great lighting in bathroom, large hot shower, super clean, beautiful garden to sit in, access to shared terrace and kitchen (fridge and microwave), free drinking water, free tea/coffee, free fruit, and umbrellas to use. Very safe, security code to access. Angelina is just wonderful - so kind and helpful, and keeps everything immaculately clean and restocked. Great location beautiful cobbled area to just wander, close to everything - 10 minutes easy walk to centre. I highly recommend this place, and will always stay here when I come to San Cristobal!

GermanyAs a solo traveler, I was hoping to meet fellow travelers, but I was the only guest at times, it felt a little lonely. What was a little confusing is that Booking showed that only 1 room was available but the entire place was empty. The lady Angelica who took care of the place was friendly, gave recommendations and made me feel welcome. The owner/manager Diana was traveling when I was there. She welcomed me very nicely by WhatsApp but was not very responsive to my my messages/questions that I had during the time I stayed there. Wifi was a little slow in the room.
Amazing guesthouse with ~6 spacious and wonderfully equipped rooms with patio or balcony. You'll find everything you need there, including a shared kitchen area. It's clean and very cozy and even has a fireplace - perfect for everyone who wishes to stay in a secluded space located in a quiet area. Every little detail taken care of... Shared kitchen available has complimentary hot and cold water as well as fruit and cereal. Amazing view overlooking town. 5-10 min walking distance from busier area - nice and quiet.
