Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is no place to eat in the afternoon. Restaurant only open in the morning now. Maybe later when business picks up again.
Nice clean, large rooms. Good beds, pillows, and linens. The bathroom was large. There is plenty of hot water. Matehuala is an excellent overnite stop if you are heading south. Also, it is an excellent place to stay for day trips to Real de Catorce.

MexicoOur only disappointment has been the restaurant no longer being open for dinner. Have never found an area Hera that was better than what they served. Still an excellent breakfast though. The parking is a safe place for cars however the ram down is very tight to get down.
Our place to stay for over a decade going to and from Puerto Vallerta. Can’t say enough about how comfortable we have been over the years.

United StatesUnfortunately breakfast wasn’t served before 8:00 am. To late for us. Not even a coffee. And the restaurant was closed. Also the room equipment was a bit low. Only one towel for each, no cups/glasses, no Kleenex. It was just what had to be in the room. Hair dryer and TV remote control at the reception. It was okay for one night.
The Room was super spacious for the 2 of us. And clean.

Mexicothe restaurant is closed for dinner. We’ve stayed at this place twice every year for over 10 years and the food and service at the restaurant was a big attraction. Breakfast is still excellent but miss the evening meal very much. Understand the hours may be expanded in April.

United StatesThe streets are very narrow and it's very easy to get confused if you don't live there and happen to go the wrong way A helpful tip is many cities in Mexico have every other street one way. But a little confusing is many times they park cars both ways in one way streets and with few signs. You can't tell you are going the wrong way until a car comes at you blinking their lights honking and yelling at you, " Hey Amigo...you're going the wrong way!". The bathroom tile gets very slippery when wet, so walk softly there if the floor is wet from the shower and lay a bathmat and towels down so you don't slip. .
The Rooms were massive! They were furnished really nice with two Queen beds...very comfortable. The bathroom was modern and glass shower door pretty. The towels were soft and we had everything we needed including a wash cloth and bathmat. The view from the second floor overlooked the main square which had a huge lovely decorated tree🎄. The staff was so helpful and spoke good English. Carlos was his name. The parking was underneath and clean and safe The breakfast buffet was only $9.95 US per person and WAS THE VERY BEST BREAKFAST BUFFET WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! The sheets were clean and soft and pillows were nice. The room smelled clean and fresh Carlos explained how to operate the TV and even sent someone back up to help us after I pushed several wrong buttons on the remote. He helped unload and reload the next day. You couldn't find a nicer staff anywhere The Kirkland Coffee is farmed locally, but we learned later Starbucks buys it, and I can taste why. It was the very best coffee I've ever had in my entire life, bar none. We walked around the square after dark, which was just off the corner of the hotel, and felt very safe at all times. The decor in the hotel lobby was exceptionally lovely with some of the prettiest tile work I've ever seen They had it decorated really nice for Christmas 🎄 All the people we met, whether working at the hotel, or perfect strangers on the street were super friendly and very helpful. Even though our Spanish was limited they tried to answer our questions and were very gracious. The breakfast buffet staff was very amazing. After we were already happily full, the cook had the waiter bring us our some special treats which were excellent.

United StatesLocation, right across from the plaza with restaurants and food trucks. Staff, very helpful and professional. Secure underground parking. Breakfast buffet in their restaurant was the best I have ever had in Mexico. Many choices for hot entries to include chicken, beef and vegetarian. wonderful fruit, fruit salads and juices as well as bread, cereal, yogurt and toppings. The service was impeccable.

United StatesHotel is okay but there's no restaurant and the neighborhood isn't that exciting. Very crowded and loud. Every electric devise you need you have to get from the reception either remote control or hair dryer. There weren't even Kleenex or cups. I guess people steal everything.
Was the second time for us. The staff is very friendly. They also have a parking garage. And the breakfast was the best we had!!

United StatesThere wasn't much to dislike. It was clean and modern with an elevator for the upper floors. The room was comfortable. I wish there had been a small swimming pool but I could also do without it.
I liked the fact that it was next to a park where there were some vendors and food trucks serving meals and I could eat seated at a table on the sidewalk. (The restaurant at the hotel was closed for some reason and I didn't feel like going out too far to a restaurant after dark.) I also enjoyed walking to the market area late afternoon and back to get a feel of the city.
