Rooftop with kitchen and fridge is accessed outside the door of the reception so public access and not secure. Bar on rooftop looked like it hadn’t been used for a while, not very social.

The AC in room 5 is automatic and was very cold the first night. Luckely it didn’t work the second night. I recommend bringing some warm close :)

The location is central, I used a scooter to get around which worked great. But expect to do a fair bit of walking if that's how you want to get around Puerto.

Very relaxed hostel with a good vibe. Nice facilities in the rooftop bar and the pool room bar. Aircon in the bedroom was great, I slept very well here.

The staff control the A/C and it was sometimes turned off during the night, which was fine with only 3 people in the room. But when the room was full the air in there got very hot and gross. The security could have been better, there are no locked doors to get into the hostel during the day so anyone could just walk in. There is music that plays very loud every night until between 12-2 AM so just be aware that you will probably need earplugs or white noise. The hostel isn’t very social if that’s the vibe you’re after although I can’t speak about the bar upstairs because I never did go chill up there at night.

I loved the location and how Central it is. There are lots of cheap restaurants, supermarkets, local markets and shopping nearby. It’s a 15-30 minute walk to a lot of the beaches. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The kitchen functions well and the roof top is a really nice place to have breakfast in the morning with a nice view. The beds were comfy with curtains and lockers in the room (I stayed in the female dorm). Shower and toilet in the room. Drinking water available in the room.

there were only two showers for all the guests which felt a little dirty at times. there were termites close to my bed, I could hear them and the day before I left I noticed a lot of termite poo at the end of my bed. Wi-Fi was a bit patchy.

the AC and hot shower was such a luxury and the room was cleaned well regularly. kitchen was great and I liked the roof top bar to hang out in. the location is amazing if you want to amongst the locals. there is good shops around if you need to restock your supplies and good food around. there is also a big supermarket less than 5 minute walk. close to the ADO bus station and 10-15 minute walk to the beach. El Coyote was my favorite hostel I stayed in in Puerto. to get some good rest in after being unwell. it’s not a social hostel but everyone is kind and friendly. I’m sure you can make some friends if you try. staff were really friendly and chill vibes, some of them engaging in good initiatives that aim to help the community with the harsh impacts of the rapidly growing tourism in Puerto.

Great staff! I could arrive early and already have my dorm bed in the morning and I could leave my bags the last before taking a night bus, really convenient! The lady managing the place even gave me a better price for the two nights I stayed there! The hostel is also close to the ADO bus station. The beds have curtains which is great to feel some intimacy.

It was filthy, the bathroom was sooo nasty. We did not get the best room, that might effect our experience. there was a family making noise and talking to 3 at night, like nobody was there. The guy in the bunk under me, smoked weed?! We was so disgusted, we ended up finding a airbnb after 1/3 days here.. I would not recommend.

Loved it. A cheap hostal in centro of puerto escondido. Staff are really friendly. I mean it’s a cheaper option so don’t expect anything fancy but I had a great time there.

-Someone tampered with my food and water bottle. Specifically, my water bottle was filled with what I'm positive was (clean) toilet water. Regardless, before I could empty it myself someone else did and left it in a place it wasn't before just to reassure me it was tampered with along with food. -The wifi didn't work. It connected but a text only message takes several seconds and a small document that would've taken maybe 2 seconds on cellular even took 5 minutes due to connectivity issues. Logging into my email the last night took 10 minutes. -Air Cons didn't work half the time and when they did having them turned on was like asking to pull teeth. Made it very uncomfortable. -Maggots in one of the kitchen refrigerators and roaches in the rooms. Didn't even feel comfortable cooking. -Last but not least, someone else with keys to the locker went in and helped themselves to an obvious amount of instant coffee and, believe it or not, toothpaste. If tourists are unwanted then you shouldn't run this business. Oh, and there's nowhere to sit with a laptop.

Extremely unwelcoming. Below cons aside, the entire experience in Escondido is being "treated as well as you spend." Far from a beachy experience and an unnecessary attitude towards people looking to crash out on a Mexican beach.

The kitchen is dirty and poorly socked. There is no place besides your dorm bed to get relief from the heat.

The dormitory and the bathroom was very dirty despite almost daily cleaning. We noticed the presence of cockroaches in the beds. The kitchen is more or less well equipped but everything is worn. When organized by the hostel, outsiders are welcome and all the dormitories remain open because it is impossible to close them. On top of that, the air conditioning only works from time to time.

The rooftop was good, the view during the day is great. The location is near to the beach.

I honestly didn't feel very safe, I was alone in the Female dorm but there was no way to lock the door so anyone could have come in during the night. Also there were cockroaches and smell in the bathroom.
