Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWe paid close to 1000 dollars a night and also put 400 dollars on tab for the food and drinks. Despite this as soon as we went over tab we were pestered to pay immediately even when we were getting our breakfast deliver to us on the last morning. I explained I would pay at check out in an hour and was told to pay now. i refused and paid on check out. There was just a sense of money grabbing here at times. I also asked for rose petals on the bed for our honeymoon. I was quoted 60 dollars with a dessert or 160dollars with champagne. I replied that I just wanted the petals and recieved no response and didnt get the petals. Lacking the 5 star touch but still nice.
The ocean front suite is amazing the perfect location for a room. The views are fantastic. The food here is great as is the beach club. Book your transfer here from the airport with the hotel as its the best value even though it sounds expensive.

United StatesThe included breakfast only has fruit basket and toast. Additional items need to be ordered and they are a bit expensive( but at least it was good food). Room service has an additional $5 charge. There were a few bugs in our room , but that's kind of expected given the weather and tropical environment. Our rooms ( room 1) TV had a had a dark discolored band which was annoying.
Comfortable and modern rooms. We enjoyed the private pool in our room and made the most of it. The location is great, it's a short walk away from all the beach clubs and restaurants, but far enough that the noise and commotion don't bother you. The private beach area is really nice and clean. Good wifi speeds. Free parking is definitely a big plus. Staff is super friendly, very helpful and responsive.

GermanyMy wife and I had an amazing stay in the Tago Tulum. The rooms are luxurious, spacious, very clean and comfortable. The view on the beach and the privat pool were great as well. Two aspects make the hotel absolutely outstanding. First is undoubtedly the excellent food that is served on the privat beach, in the Hotel dining area or as room service. Second and most importantly is the service team. Our special thanks goes to Carlos, Bruno, Manuel and Cesar! Their attentiveness, kindness and professionalism made our vacation absolutely carefree. The Team, the Location, the tastefully furnished rooms with a sense for details and thoughtful amenities make the Tago Tulum a World Class Boutique Hotel! We hope to visit again soon!

United StatesNothing! Everything was great.
Tago Tulum exceeded every expectation. The photos do not do the property justice! From the moment we walked in we were blown away by the property. We stayed for 6 nights in room 3 (tres), which I highly recommend. We had booked a jungle view room, but this room had a partial view of the ocean and felt very private. We were on the main floor so we had a bonus private area in front of the plunge pool set up with two chairs in the sand. Our trip was in December so during the day the room got direct sunlight, so we were able to lay out and enjoy the sunshine from the comfort of our room. This room is also steps from the beach, which made beach days even better because we could pop back and forth from the beach to our room throughout the day with minimal effort. The room itself was stunning. The bed was VERY comfortable. The air conditioning was great throughout our entire stay. The beach club is beautiful and the chairs / day beds are very comfortable. The staff was so kind and the service was top notch. Added nice touches included two bottles of Fiji water daily, espresso machine and two pods each day, mini fridge, mini dessert brought to the room each night, and mini cocktails at the beach club (e.g., one day they brought around complimentary mini pina coladas for guests at the beach club). The hotel itself is also very close by to amazing restaurants. The spots nearby that we went to and loved were Kitchen Table, Posada Margherita, and Ukami. We had rented a car and were able to park the car for free each day at the hotel. The staff went above and beyond to help with parking the car and navigating any traffic when getting in or out of the parking spot. If you are booking a trip to Tulum I could not recommend Tago enough.

United Stateson the beach their was loud music party style!! all day long! most people wanted to relax on the beach, read a book but the music was pounding all day and the volume was too high , we asked the staff many times to please lower it but they refused we ended up sitting in a different beach hotel next door to Tago eating and drinking there all day and returning to our rooms to rest late afternoon its a shame because everything else was perfect and if the music was low and as background it would of changed the whole experience and we could have enjoyed the beach experience
ok not great ! loud music all day long appropriate for young party vibe lovers ,not for relaxation and quiet time on the beach

IsraelThe private pool was dirty, loud music on the beach was playing all day, breakfast was included but had only a continental type and you needed to pay for eggs and coffee. The hotel had some renovations and it was noisy and annoying. Overall, the hotel is small and nice but it’s very expensive for what you actually get.
The rooms are nice and the location is good. Stuff was very nice and helpful.

United StatesThe cleaning stuff most certainly stole my card information on three of my cards, and I had to have them shut down the first day. That was very disappointing. And left us feeling uneasy, and like we had to have our heads on a swivel at the hotel.
The sand covered property was very unique and one of my favorite aspects. It was a beautiful hotel

IsraelOn the other hand, the hotel service, facilities and total experience were highly disappointing and infuriating: 1. We had a reservation with breakfast included, but it turned out that this breakfast, for 2 people, included only 1slice of toasted bread(!!) 2 plates with slices of fruit, regular coffee or tea and fresh juice. Anything extra, such as eggs, was an extra charge of 20 USD for each person at the lowest. 2. The prices at the hotel were were excessively extremely high. For example, just a small bottle of water cost 7 USD. 3. Luckily we were warned by our friends to pay by Apple Pay on anything extra we ordered and keep the receipts, as the hotel required them to pay at the checkout for many things which they already paid for. They had to review with the staff on every charge and receipt so they won’t be charged twice. Them and also we, felt this all process is like an investigation and our all stay felt like we must be very careful and aware so we won’t be charge for anything we shouldn’t have been. Another example - when we checked out, we were literally questioned. We were asked “Did you take anything from the room or the minibar?”, we answered “No.” and the reply was “Are you sure?”. Next we were informed that someone is going now to check and review the room and make sure. Only after almost 10 minutes we received their approval and release.
On one hand, the room was the most beautiful room we’ve ever been to and exceeded our expectations

IsraelDuring our stay we had constructions right above our room between 11:00-17:00. It was terrible, we asked the hotel’s staff to change our room and they didn’t want to, although they came to hear the noises by themselves. Additional note - bottle of water and 1 omlette costs us 37 usd, super expensive in my opinion.

IrelandLike much of Tulum Beach (in hindsight we’d skip Talum Beach as everything is at least 2-3x the price of the rest of Yucatán and the Taxis charging a fixed 500 pesos is a joke), the hotel staff were too keen to try extract more money from you and upsell. Whilst breakfast is included, it’s very small and basic and if you want anything more exciting, you have to pay more to order off the other breakfast menu. Also the staff try to get you to tip over breakfast. They’d be better off charging an extra $10 per head a night and don’t try to upsell at breakfast time.
Room design and pool on the balcony is amazing. Lovely touch with the nightly small deserts delivered to the room. Recommend guests go into Tulum Centre for a much more authentic and reasonable restaurant and drinks experience.
