Gerardo was an extremely lovely and helpful host in all aspects from the greeting till saying good bye. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated! There was a shared space to cook and or prepared meals if needed. Location was great. Close to all the main spots and it felt safe!

The water pressure in the shower of our room (Elena) could have been stronger. I’m not sure if this is the case in all rooms, but it was still sufficient for a proper shower and didn’t detract from our experience.

The location was fantastic—right in the heart of Centro but tucked away from the noise. We loved our room; it was in a beautiful historic building with a modern, cozy interior. The property felt very secure, the WiFi was reliable, the air conditioning was powerful, and everything was impeccably clean. Our host, Gerardo, was exceptional. He was always available on WhatsApp, providing great recommendations and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.

Great location near the city center but tucked away so the rooms aren’t on a busy street. The kitchen was beautiful and available for guests to use, the fridge as well. The room was so perfectly designed and made us feel instantly at home.

This is one of the best places ever. Gerardo is an amazing host. Really beautiful place. The room is very comfortable and clean. There is a shared kitchen and fridge. You can walk to all the highlights of the city.

You hear some noise from outside but it didn’t bother us

Very friendly owner who made our stay comfortable. We could check out late and he helped us with arranging a mezcal tour, which was really good. Bed comfortable, great location. Free water and coffee. Would highly recommend!

Honestly, nothing. I really enjoyed our stay.

The perfect place to stay with my family. The host Gerardo is the BEST. So considerate and responsive, giving us plenty of recommendations in Oaxaca. The room was also much appreciated, especially with its air conditioning and central location which meant we could walk everywhere. There are thoughtful touches including a shared fridge where you can store cold drinks, cutlery, and coffee powder. I highly recommend Casa Sofi!

It was wonderful! The only thing that could be improved is the water pressure in the shower could be stronger, but not really a problem.

Ideally situated within walking distance of so many of Oaxacas gems, Casa Sofi is not only well appointed and super cute, but also extremely convenient. This adobe home is over 100 years old, so it has the historic charm but has been well kept and has spacious rooms. We loved that there are only 2 rooms in this place and that we got to share a lovely common space in addition to the room. The bathroom is updated and the common space has great amenities such as the fridge, microwave, coffee maker (with their own blend of coffee), and lots of bottled water. Gerardo was an amazing host, super friendly, and very proactive and responsive. He provided so many great recommendations for our stay in Oaxaca. He went above and beyond by allowing us an early check in and a late check out to help us maximize our brief stay. You can tell he really cares about his guests. We would totally stay here again!!

Nothing, really. Everything was very good. Street traffic noises sometimes loud....by rude drivers and trucks in the morning.

Location was excellent. An easy, short walk to Centro, north to explore Xochimilco neighborhood, south to explore markets and not congested. Danza Square with adorable ice cream cafes at Casa Sofi's doorstep. Gerardo, the host of Casa Sofi, was exceptional. Always available, arranged taxis and suggested things to do and explore. The house is an authentic Oaxacan historical family home. Lovely living room and nice decor. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. Toiletries provided. Cleaning and towel change were welcome. Water and coffee were provided. Also fridge, coffee maker. Host provided ironing board and iron upon request. Thank you!

We were very happy to stay at Casa Sofi. Girardo, the host, was outstanding! He was exceptionally accommodating, responsive and proactive. He contacted us ahead of time, kept in touch as we were coming to Casa Sofi from the airport, met us at the property and explained everything. During our stay he kept checking on us and made many very helpful suggestions about activities, restaurants and various attractions. He truly went beyond the call of duty! For the Valentine's Day, which occured during our stay, Girardo arranged for flowers to be delivered to my wife. He also was very flexible with the late check out. The customer service he provided was oustanding and it made our stay at Oaxaca memorable. We have traveled extensively around the world and Girardo is the best host we've ever had!

Like any hotel in a city center, the streets are noisy. The host did what was necessary to muffle the noise, but on Friday and Saturday nights there was music in nearby bars that we could hear. There was also construction noise nearby. But if you want to stay in this hotel, ask the host because he can tell you what the circumstances are like; he pays a lot of attention to detail. I can tell you, that it's worth staying in this nice small hotel!

The hotel is very well located, since everything is walking distance (sightseeing, restaurants, markets, shops). If you stay in Oaxaca City you don't need a car. But if you bring one, you can park on the street. The room is quite spacious and fresh. Since it's a small hotel, you have a lot of comfort. The host's attention is outstanding: he was very attentive and did everything in his power to ensure we had a pleasant stay. You have Netflix, Wi-Fi and even a lobby to eat, read or contemplate the street. There is a refrigerator if you want to store something. The decoration of the hotel is nice; and the hotel has a lot of natural light.
