Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is amazing. It's a pretty quick walk to the walking street, Guadalupe. The wifi was also excellent. I do a lot of Zoom calls, and I need a certain speed of internet to make that work. The wifi was truly excellent.

ItalyThe location is walkable from the centre but a little bit far, especially in the night. As a female solo traveller I felt safe but always a bit worried and alert
The staff does a great job to make everyone feel comfortable. I felt so cold during the night because I was sick, they provided me more blankets and asked if I needed something.

AustraliaThe first room was darker than I expected based off the photos online, but it all it took was a simple request for a another room and I had everything I needed.
As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed like an old friend by the wonderful Amira and I felt comfortable and safe straight away. My first room was spacious but a bit dark for me and I asked if there were other rooms available. There was one upstairs that was small but lovely and light and I moved in to that one the same day. The terrace up the top is a great place to catch the sunshine all day long and to have excellent conversations with other travellers. Sometimes even a jam session! Kitchen is well equipped, and the whole place is cleaned daily.

Australianothing! The 15 min walk into town was very worth what this place was.
Such a gorgeous & “home-like” feel to this stay. We could have easily lived here for longer! The artsy quirks, great functional kitchen & affordability were all stand outs along with the kindness of the owner & staff. If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere largely full of folk who are staying in town for longer this is the place for you

United StatesThe rooms on the ground floor can be a little cold in winter, even in the daytime. But the ground floor has the better wifi, and I needed it for work.
The staff are genuinely nice and helpful. They clean throughout the day, unlike many hostels that clean the common areas once a day. They are always making improvements and maintaining the facilities. The wifi on the ground floor works really well, if your device can pick up a 5Ghz router. The neighborhood has a lot of restaurants where you don't pay tourist prices. At the same time it is only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the historic center or central market. The rooms on the terrace get sunlight and seem very pleasant. They gave me a room that had a lot of space for working on the ground floor by the router.

United StatesYou pretty much get what you pay for. The guesthouse is quite inexpensive, but that may not be a good thing. When we arrived, we were quite surprised. The pictures of the place on booking.com look much better than it actually is. They were quite obviously photo shopped. The paint is peeling off of the walls, and there’s graffiti all over the railing around the second floor. The kitchen pots and pans are ancient and dented, and the plates are all plastic that’s hard to clean. We thought about leaving, but we paid for six weeks and wouldn’t get our money back. Also be aware that the rooms on the top floor are often too hot during the day – we were there in Feb/Mar – and the rooms on the first and second are too cold, as there is no heat or air conditioning.
The place is quite clean. Myra takes very good care to ensure that it stays that way. There’s always hot water, and the wi-fi, for the most part, works pretty well. The people who stay here are really nice, and there’s a sense of community. Although a bit far from the central area, the location is quite interesting and is a real neighborhood off the tourist track. The city’s huge central market is only about a 10-minute walk away, and you can buy most of the things you need to cook your own breakfast or other meals, if you so desire.
