Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is no breakfast, some days the restaurant was open, others not. All times you pay, nothing comes with the room, not even coffee. If you order a croissant you get half of one. Half a croissant, who does that? Also the entrance is on a side street that is virtually empty and quite dark after sunset. We had no problems but vulnerable travellers, women travelling alone might feel a bit insecure. But overall good. They could do a bit more without much cost or effort to make it great.
Room, grounds, staff were all great

Mexicothe only point I could mention would be the unnecessary amount of armchair/sofa in our room. however, it was only due to having a toddler in the room. otherwise everything was excellent.
the check in was very smooth and fast and the receptionist even checked us in at 11 am so my son could take his nap before we head out visiting the city. the terrace and the lobby had a very pleasant atmosphere. I could enjoy reading a book as my son and my husband used the pool.

MexicoThe pool was cold and not clean at all. No breakfast on site, the restaurant looks nice and could be a great asset for the hotel but currently not in use.
The room was large with authentic art and decoration. Very quiet hotel with nice gardens, very close to the city center.

United StatesThe fact that in order to use the Wi-Fi you had to go to the common areas where there are mosquitos early in the day and evening. For what they charge they should ensure Wi-Fi can be used in each of the rooms. The restaurant food was not good and expensive for what it was although the waiter, Manuel was charming and made great margaritas.
Room was spacious, bed was really comfortable and linens were good. The antique Mexican decor is very interesting. The staff was really good and the lady who cleaned our roof was excellent. The manager, Ramon, was also helpful.

United StatesRooms were ok, it was dissapointing the pool was really cold! Couldn't get in. Arrived on friday afternoon and service for snacks was not available until 3pm. Although hotel was not that busy, service at the restaurant for breakfast was sloppy and slow. There is always room for improvement, but didn't feel I got value for my money.
Great location and very friendly staff.

United StatesNo real complaints. It was a great visit. The only challenge was getting directions to & from the bus station - directions provided sent us to the wrong bus station. Thankfully everyone in town was very friendly & we got new directions!
Casa Azul was an oasis in the city. It immediately felt welcoming & peaceful and the courtyard was so incredibly gorgeous! The breakfast was one of the tastiest meals we had all trip! The staff were so welcoming & helpful. Overall, this was just a fantastic stay.

United KingdomPoor information about breakfast-very poor. We never got any breakfast. We stayed from Tuesday evening to Friday morning and were only informed that breakfast was available on the premises on Friday morning as we were leaving. It just so happened that another group (4 people ?) had checked in the evening before so it appeared to me that the hotel did not think it worth catering for breakfast with only 2 people (ourselves) in the hotel. Extremely disappointing and very poor service. In fairness however the cleaning staff were obliging and helpful.
The outside spaces were very nice. The room was good (although we had to ask for a room with a double bed)

United StatesRestaurant closes at 5:00pm. Might have something to do with the time of year. Bathtub side was pretty high which made it a little precarious for people in their seventies. There was a sturdy stool but I didn’t feel safe using it.

United KingdomLots. My room was dirty. My linen was stained. The shower had mold and lime scale. The water was cold. One of the pools was shut. No one told me until I complained. I was moved rooms. The next room had no wifi. At all. Never in 2 days. It was advertised as being an upgraded. Booking.com promised 1 swimming pools and working wifi. I was told "the wifi doesn't work in the old rooms" The staff kept asking for tips. You tip. Please tip. You leave tip please.
