The shower could have better water pressure. The rough stone steps up to the bathroom were uncomfortable on bare feet.

We stayed in 2 different rooms over 8 days. One room had an open shower that got the whole floor wet. In such a dry climate this was no big deal.

Rooms were great with comfortable beds and nice touches like a shopping bag and hats to borrow. Beds much more comfortable than 90% of Mexican camas de hoteles we co have slept on. Loved the quiet shady patio, delicious Mexican breakfasts and accommodating staff. We would return today if we could.

The only negative was the bathroom door in our room. It didn’t fully close, and is almost rusty so makes a loud noise as you try to slide it shut. Hopefully a quick fix!

We accidentally walked to the wrong site (there’s two!) but were immediately welcomed by Fernando, who offered us a room there! It was a 4 bed room and completely our mistake so we opted to walk to the other hostel site, but he then called us a taxi to take us over there. Whilst waiting for the taxi he gave us some of the most useful advice we’ve received on this trip, explaining different options to get to Puerto Escondido and other beaches we should visit. That level of service was so impressive, thank you Fernando! Both hostel sites are wonderful, calm and cool (Oaxaca is super hot in the day time). Our room was beautifully decorated in traditional style, and the inner courtyard and shared spaces are impressive too. The breakfast gets great reviews and I can see why, an enjoyable communal experience. When we left we got more good advice from another staff member (with a broken arm, can’t remember your name - apologies!) and were able to leave our luggage whilst we wondered around for a few hours. Thanks for a great stay!

Loud music in the neighborhood at night, but I don’t think that would be different anywhere else in the city. The rooms were very clean, although I would have preferred higher-quality (and newer-looking) sheets on the bed.

Very clean, well-located, and charming b&B on a nice little side street, with delicious breakfast served with care every morning. Friendly, caring staff. Lovely, quiet courtyard. Felt very safe and secure. Also loved the bathroom/wet room. Great to be steps away from Cafe Boca del Monte with its rooftop terrace for quick afternoon meals and awesome views over Oaxaca.

I felt so comfortable and well cared for here, right down to every detail. The rooms are adorable, unique and with VERY comfortable beds and bedding. The bathroom is also beautiful and unique - a skylight over the shower makes it feel almost like you’re outside - and I left wanting my future bathroom to be designed like this!!! Breakfast every day was delicious and the large dining table led to great conversations with the other guests. A touch that I really appreciated (as a runner who drinks lots of water) was the water dispenser in the kitchen to refill my water bottle, and the fresh pitcher of water the staff left in my room every day - water in Mexico can otherwise get really expensive! I felt very safe in this neighborhood. I had a late flight and the hotel was flexible with my late arrival, and also gave me transportation recommendations that saved me a good bit of money. They kept my luggage for the day after my checkout as I had a late departure flight as well. My only complaint is that there are a few bars nearby whose music I could hear late at night while trying to sleep - but that’s not the fault of the hotel! Even considering that, I would absolutely stay here again because it was such a convenient, comfortable and enjoyable stay!! And I will absolutely recommend it to friends and family!!

I loved everything, but if you are a traveler that requires air conditioning to be comfortable, then this may not be the best place. They had a fan, but the room did get a little warm. We were hardly in the room and for the price, we were okay without having air conditioning.

I loved the character of this B&B. The price was right on point for the accommodation. Everyone was so kind and friendly. We enjoyed the "honesty bar" and amazing breakfast! Truly a gem of a place.

Even though the place was very nice and the bed was comfortable…the noise level at night coming from the neighborhood was too much. That was our only complaint, but it was really annoying.

room is quite dark, but you won’t want to spend time inside anyway :) Sometimes there is some kind of pump switching on in the morning that wakes you up. you might want to consider earplugs.
