Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMy spouse had more of a problem with this, the lounge music coming from the pool is just behind your room. They had it turned off by 10p every night and we were usually already out for the day before ever hearing it turn on again. You do have to walk through the sand to get to the restaurant and if headed out for the day. So you kind of end every day sandy and begin everyday sandy. Not a big deal if you're accustomed to a beach vacation.
The place was amazing. We stayed in one of the oceanfront suites. Very cozy and private. If you're coming to visit and spend a lot of time away from the hotel, don't get this room. You won't want to leave it. It was right by the pool and you can go to sleep listening to the ocean. It's also right next to the restaurant.

United KingdomThe hotel gives access to the breach club to non hotel guests. This can be challenging because I have noticed those guests can drink a lot... and behave accordingly. My preference is for hotels where this is better restricted. Privacy is key at that level. I do not book a 5• hotel at 5• price to spend my extremely valuable time at the breach with whoever turns up. It was so lovely when I came to Ana y Jose 10 years ago and I am sad this has changed.
Hotel very well looked after - amazing staff. Truly amazing and doing the best they can. They are very much “hands on”, in particular the concierge. A great number of staff, including security staff, always happy to help with a smile. Restaurant staff (Maria and Will) decorated my table for breakfast because they knew I was leaving. I was also surprised they clean the beach every morning! In addition, the property is beautiful. View from the room was really enjoyable.

the property is nice, directly on the beach. the lobby is detached but the managers of the hotel were very present . the food quality was good .

United Kingdomonly slight downside is the breakfast that you get if you book with breakfast included, it’s very basic and leaves much to be desired! you basically leave breakfast still hungry.
beautiful rooms a few steps away from the pool and the beach, amazing attentive staff and what a great location by the beach in Tulum, walking distance to all the bars, restaurants, boutiques and beach clubs.

United StatesContinental breakfast is complimentary but doesn't include water, which costs 9.75USD per bottle. Black coffee and orange juice are included, but not water. Of course, we learned our lesson quickly and would drink water before heading out to breakfast. Some breakfast wait staff seemed eager for tips, it's not a good look/vibe for a nice resort.
We loved our second room (Nube is the name) which is very close to the pool and doesn't have much noise pollution from the club across the street. It has a queen bed and a day bed, which was perfect for our small family of 3. We loved how easy it was to access the pool, head down to the gorgeous beach (soft, white sand, warm waters, and no seaweed), and get cleaned up again back in our room. If you're planning on staying at this resort and would like peace and quiet at night in your room, be sure to book a room far away from the street and on the bottom level. The night staff was super caring when our daughter vomited in the middle of the night and came to help clean up our room. They checked in on her the next day as well. It was nice to be able to communicate with them directly via text messaging. They felt like family.

United StatesThe spa didn't wow us, the room was chilly, i would recommend trying a spa at a different hotel but still stay at ana y jose because it was great value. It was really noisy at night like all the other reviews say but they provided ear plugs and we were so tired from the day that we were able to sleep through the night no problem.
Right on the beautiful beach. Intimate and tropical grounds. Friendly and super helpful staff. They booked us a private cenote tour which was totally worth it and recommend. The food was great, ordered lunch on the beach multiple time and it was always good. Walking distance to a ton of lively restaurants and partying so you have a lot of dining options to choose from. Also offered turn down service with chocolates which is always a nice touch. The hotel itself on has about 30 rooms so the staff recognize you and makes it feel that more special. Overall loved this place and would return, great value for the price/location.

United StatesThere didn’t seem to be enough wait staff working, so most times the service was very slow. this may be related to COVID. Also the food at the hotel is very average so I would recommend going to eat at other restaurants for lunch/ dinner.
Amazing location, lots of yummy and fun restaurants nearby. It was also very quiet which my husband and I loved… that’s challenging to find in Tulum given there are many beach clubs. the beach is absolutely gorgeous and the staff picks up the seaweed daily which I did not expect.

United StatesWIFI: mediocre. It was great before 12pm but once everyone wakes up, connections are poor because it’s busy. BREAKFAST: the complimentary breakfast was coffee just and a bread basket. That’s it. But the Breakfast area is right on the beach and provides an amazing morning oceanfront view for simply having coffee. Some people, like myself, don’t care for anything but coffee In the morning so this worked for me.
As a frequent luxury hotel visitor, my expectations were low going into Tulum with the understanding that this is a hip location focused less on the luxury factor. I was incredibly surprised by how much I loved this hotel so I’ll break it down by category! 1. LOCATION: this is a terrific location close to everything you’ll be dying to see and eat in Tulum. The great restaurants are within walking distance and the best beach clubs are literally a few steps away. You’ll get a great mix of partying AND relaxing at this hotel. Expect quiet mornings and loud nights. (If you want full tranquility, you have no business going to Tulum at all) 2. TERRIFIC STAFF: I’ve never had much luck with Mexico hotels and their staff. But this hotel’s staff was the best I’ve experienced in the entire country of Mexico. They communicate quickly and efficiently using WhatsApp and everything with them was just super easy. From The check in process to the checkout process everything was absolutely seamless. Fernanda and Paulina were both amazing! 3. ROOMS: perfect. Good lighting, no bad smells, VERY clean, no bugs, rain shower, perfectly sized, full size mirror, good vanity space for getting ready, boho decor, laid back and easy to get to. The resort is small and perfectly sized. I had a standard garden room because I booked late but the other rooms looks even MORE amazing. Although the standard was perfectly fine! You’ll need slippers the floors were marble and cold!

United StatesIt seemed to take the staff a long time to bring drinks even though there didn't seem to be many others ordering. Like a really long time. There weren't too many simple dining options right nearby. The hotel restaurant was good but like everything in Tulum it was expensive. Tried to look into booking an excursion through the hotel consierge and it was ridiculously expensive. Better to use the guy in the booth down by the go mart.
The included breakfast was simple, delicious and expected. Additional breakfast options were wonderful. Personally love the Don y Ana eggs, muy bien. The location is on a beautiful stretch of beach near many dining options. The nearby "clubs" are very noisy and depending on your room you may be unhappy. We are pretty flexible and knew about the noise but even with earplugs we found it pretty intense. We ended up moving our room to a more quiet area. A lot of the nearby restaurants are owned by the same big company and although the food is AMAZING they are loud.....and they were all pretty empty which made the vibe less fun. Overall though it's a great spot but probably you want a car if you don't plan to do bikes or scooters.

United StatesI stayed at this hotel with my daughter, just the two of us. I live in Los Angeles, and I was so surprised to see the prices at the hotel for lunch—pizza or a burger cost $80-100 per person. It would be fine if it were delicious, but this price is for a small pizza or a plate of Bolognese pasta, and cocktails are $40-50 (even non-alcoholic ones). We eat lightly, just once a day, but we couldn’t eat pasta, pizza, or burgers every day—it's not how I usually eat. And I must repeat, the food wasn’t tasty. Paying these prices as if we were dining at the best restaurants in Los Angeles is madness. In the end, the bill for 3 days with pizza, burgers, pasta, and cocktails was $1000. We found a restaurant near our hotel that was very beautiful, with music and good staff, and we went there instead. We ate meat, fish, tacos, and drinks, and the total was $700 for 6 days. I also want to add that the hotel advertises a "free" breakfast, but that’s not true—they charge you for everything you eat and then present you with options for a 15%, 18%, or 20% tip. In the end, they bring you a breakfast bill for $80 but write "free" on the check and ask for a tip. I left $20-25. The food was not tasty, overpriced, and there was nothing worth eating. The staff wasn’t very friendly either. Also, I want to mention that the hotel rooms aren’t bad, but the beds are impossible to sleep on. Every morning I did some stretching, but my neck wouldn't move at all. My daughter had the same issue.

United StatesWe got robbed by a hotel employee only 4 hours into our stay. She went into our room and stole all of our credit cards and cash from the SAFE. We left the very next day, when the hotel staff was unable to tell us what they were going to do to rectify the situation and kept saying they were “following protocol.” They claim to be refunding our money for our stay that we did not get to have, but we have yet to see the money.

United StatesWas a bit strange to see all the security outside the hotel. There was typically police and/or military personnel presence. These individuals also had what appeared to be AR15's nearly at all times in their hand. Also, the hotel pool was quite small and very little space to spend time around.
Location! Hotel! Beach! This hotel has it all! And one of the best in Tulum! And I loved our semi-private pool.

NigeriaAs someone who travels a lot, this has to be one of the most disappointing places I’ve ever stayed. The rooms didn’t look as advertised at all, the bathroom had no door. The bath was just ridiculous. The so called continental breakfast was just bread, butter and orange juice, we had to pay for eggs, sausages and bacon. To think that I spent about $1700 for 3 nights to get this experience still haunts me. Way overpriced in my opinion.
The only good thing here was the food.
