Their security is a little “too tight”. Anyone who visits you must present their ID to the front desk and the guest must come down to the lobby to sign in the person visiting. It felt invasive and a little humiliating- I’m a grown man - I don’t need the hotel monitoring who comes and goes to my room.

They upgraded my room - it was awesome. Very big, beautiful, organized well, big balcony with a view. I traveled in the “off season” so the price was about 1/3 of what it is in high season.

Sliding connection doors allow to much noise from neighbors to be heard. Hallway was also loud at night.

Staff was helpful and polite.The location was convenient to several points of interest.

The Sunday brunch was a disappointment

the incessant checks of my bag at the entrance to the beach club while inside there are strange sellers. even if you are a loyal customer we will not give you the room before 3 p.m. even though it is already ready. at check out at reception I didn't even get a goodbye and thank you after paying... 1st time I've seen that

There were some maintenance issues. The mini fridge in my room didn't work and there were several light bulbs burned out. Also the water pressure in the shower would completely turn off at random times during my shower.

Amazing location and excellent service. The Eden Pool & Lounge Garden on the 5th floor was my favorite. I enjoyed lounging by the infinity pool and having food and drink brought to me. The Top restaurant on the 13th floor was also amazing for breakfast and nightly shows. The room service was excellent and available 24 hours.

QUESTIONABLE CHARGES ON MY HOTEL BILL. WHEN I REQUESTED AN EXPLANATION TWICE FROM ALMAR I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE

The answer to practically everything is “no” or there’s an extra charge. There’s an additional charge if my friends not staying at Almar wanted to have breakfast with me. The staff doesn’t seem to be empowered to make any accommodations when a guest is unhappy about something.

They were renovating the top floor which you need to access the gym from and it was not always easy or safe because of building equipment blocking the lifts such as ladders etc.

Noisy. There is construction and music from the swimming pool area. Somewhat away from main attractions in la zona romantica by foot and area does not feel safe for solo person at night.

Y’all… the property itself was fine but food and drinks were too expensive. I could feed me and my husband on about USD$10 outside of the resort or I could buy a drink for USD$20 at the resort. Hard pass.

The resort is absolutely beautiful and close to the beach. The tub in the room was perfect for just sitting and watching the ocean from the comfort of our room.
