Not about the property but just as an FYI for those with motion sickness, take a motion sickness pill before going on the seaplane as there might be two other stops before reaching Vilu Reef.

An extremely relaxing resort. We booked the reef villa and could see and swim with multiple different fishes and corals right outside our balcony! The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, we really appreciated the complimentary wine and cake they gave for my friend’s birthday.

Nothing at all, it rained 3 days only during our 8 days stay but overall amazing.

Everything, what’s not to like! The service, the staff, the community was just absolute perfection for our honeymoon, our host Didi took amazing care of us from the moment we arrived till we left, the food was delicious, the waiter Shayaan made sure we’re always enjoying our meals, the room was always clean thanks to Sabuel who cleaned it twice a day, everything was beautiful, it was a dream honeymoon that came into reality. The resort itself was full of activities and very very enjoyable, we booked the water villa and it was a beautiful gateway with the private pool, totally recommended!

Our stay at Vilu Reef was nothing short of amazing. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade from a beach villa to a sunset reef villa. The views were breathtaking, and the room itself was luxurious and offering perfect romantic setting. To make our stay even more special, the resort decorated our bed beautifully, adding a personal touch that made us feel truly cherished. We also enjoyed a complimentary honeymoon dinner at the WellDone restaurant, where the food was exquisite, and the service was top-notch. Additionally, we were treated to a delightful breakfast in bed, making our mornings extra special. Every aspect of our stay was perfect, thanks to the attentive and caring staff especially Thathi who went above and beyond to ensure our honeymoon was magical. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return in the future. I highly recommend Sun Siyam Vilu Reef to anyone looking for a romantic and luxurious getaway!i

Bedroom floor was not always cleaned well enough. It get's dirty from water, sand, etc and I don't think there was deep cleaning. But the staff was still very respectful and they brought everything we needed.

It would help to have a broom in the room so we can sweep out sand ourselves (our room was cleaned twice a day to help with this, but it would be handy to do it ourselves too). Prices for activities are far too overpriced, some should be included with cost of stay.

Everything! The place was truly an island paradise. We were greeted on arrival by Didi who was contactable via WhatsApp if we had any questions. Sabeiul did a great job of cleaning the room and topping up everything we needed. We were told Chef Buwan was responsible for the food and we were happy with the selections each day. There were plenty of options. All staff were very attentive and friendly. Shout out to Shasha at the Aqua bar and Ranjith at Nautilus Bar, also to Anis at the spa. We chose this place for our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier, they provided us with a honeymoon package and the attention to detail with this was so thoughtful. The overwater villa was a dream (although the sound from either pool pump or air con could get a bit loud at times).

They charge 12$ everyday for breakfast. Even though it was included in our booking at booking.com. We had breakfast including in our booking.

If you have seen some of the "best corral reefs in the world", this reef will disappoint you a bit. There is a good variety of fish, but the corrals are not in their best shape. Additional activites are pricey, beaware that you have to add around 27% to the price listed in the info materials. The resort boosts to be environmentaly sustainable. I do hope that the (insectide ?) spreads, which we saw were used in the island, as well as the leakage from the pipe in the house reef comply with sustainable environmental practices.

An incredibly beautiful resort, very professionally managed, everything thought to the greatest detail. The views were marvelous, the food was delicious, the staff was polite and friendly, very accessible house reef. A lot of things to do starting from snorkeling excursions to various water sports activities and wellness treatments. Although almost all the villas were occupied, it still seemed very quiet. Highly recommend.

Me and my now wife just had the most incredible stay here at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. From the moment we landed we were greeted with warm welcomes, where the Sun Siyam team took care of our bags allowing us to relax and enjoy the journey to our resort. Our resort manager Didi was absolutely brilliant! He took care of everything for us, booking our excursions, providing information clearly and promptly when requested, and tended to our every need during our stay. Sabiul our room cleaner was also fantastic. Always greeting us with a warm smile and very accommodating, working around our time scales to provide his service, making sure our over water villa was immaculate, clean and feeling fresh every morning and evening. The whole staff at Vilu Reef were so friendly and happy to help with any request. They really made our stay feel so relaxing and enjoyable. The island resort itself is incredible! Great size, not too big or small with a 5min walk from one end to the other, with fantastic facilities throughout. Picturesque beaches surround it with amazing reefs that you can swim and snorkel over at your leisure. The resort is teeming with wildlife, which was lovely to see each time we walked anywhere around the resort. I don't think there was a single negative that either me or my wife can think of and can't recommend it enough! So many incredible memories have been made on our trip, the pictures don't do the resort justice! The manta ray and whale shark snorkeling trip done directly from the resort was an absolute highlight. Thank you Didi, Sabiul and the whole Sun Siyam Vilu Reef team for making our honeymoon stay the trip of a lifetime!

The only bad thing that we had to leave after our vacation was over 😅😆

Our experience at the resort was nothing short of perfection! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a dedicated team at Male airport. We were transferred to a comfortable waiting hall stocked with an array of food and drinks. The local airplane transfer to the island was seamless, and upon arrival, we were greeted by an unbelievably beautiful setting. The island itself is dreamy, with stunning beaches and our villa, the largest on the island, exceeded all expectations with its beauty and luxury. A special thanks to Muhammad Shamzoon and the chef Chaminda and Mr. Shayan for the amazing food &service. Thanks to everyone in Aqua restaurant !!! It was such a great vacation there!!! Every aspect of the island was wonderful, making our vacation truly unforgettable. We can't wait to return! Thank you for this dreamy, unforgettable vacation. Jumana & Ahmad

I only have two suggests to what could be better, the fridge in our room wasn't cold. This was quite annoying as we would buy beer/wine for the room to sit on our deck in the evening and it would quickly be warm. Also the bidet hose is not powerful enought

My stay here exceeded all my expectations, it was perfect. Everything has been thought of, all the staff are friendly and are on hand via whatsapp to answer any questions. All the food that we had was delicious, the trips were great and we hires snorkels to swim around the island. You can spend all day watching the fish and not get bored!! We hired the snorkels for 2 days and they let us keep them for week. We also played tennis and table tennis and the entertainment each night was great. I would love to stay again
