Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhilst it had pleasant seating areas and the local beach a stone’s throw away, it was situated near to the village waste facility and harbour repair yard. The former continuously burnt rubbish with smoke drifting away over the water and there was a regular banging of metal coming from the latter. The local beach was strewn with litter (it being monsoon season) a lot of which was partially burnt waste. Not everyone’s idea of paradise!
Although it felt more basic than delux (especially after coming from Sri Lanka) the room was spacious for three people and had good a/c. The restaurant staff were very friendly and dished up tasty food.

SwedenThe lighting in my room was poor and the wi-fi was not the best, though not very bad either. I am not fond of when there are a number of extra costs added to the price you see when you are about to book. Add it all up, taxes and all, and display it clearly. This was not the case with this guesthouse.
The location is just superb! Literally ten meters from the nicest beach on the island, which also has a great house reef for snorkling. The hotel provides you with equipment for that if you need it. The food and staff is also great!

JapanThe room is very clean. The staff was very kind as well. The beach spreads out in front of you, and it takes about 15 minutes to walk to Bikini Beach. I recommend staying at this hotel when you come to Maldives. breakfast is so delicious.

PolandIt is a great hotel for those people who want to know the world, get to know the place and the people who live in this place. This is not a place for pseudo travelers from the "all inclusive" category.

RomaniaWell, first of all, I stayed only one day and one night on the island because I went from Dhigurah, and I went with the local ferry, so only in transit, but I have never used such a sad accommodation!, The staff was nice but that's it , the rest.... sad sad sad
I didn't like anything! It doesn't look like in the pictures, it's very sad, a lot of mess, and the food at the table - I had dinner at the location in the evening - is not edible

FranceSome rooms may need to be refreshed, but it's fine for the price.
The warm atmosphere and the kindness of the staff and locals on the island of Mahibadhoo. It's a guest house on a local island, so it's not a luxury 5* resort. But you get the local vibes and for the price, it's 200% worth it. The location of the hotel, on the beach, is like nowhere else. There are plenty of exotic fish right in front of the hotel. You will have the calm and serenity that you will not find on any other island. Mahibadhoo is the perfect base to stay in the Maldives, so you can also visit the islands around, such as Dhigurah or Omadhoo. The diving experience was a major highlight for me. The instructor is very experienced and professional.

EstoniaThe matress in the room was very thin and uncomfortable and there was about 5 flies in the room even before we arrived. Also the whole place felt extremely money orientated - for example water was not included during breakfast and they charged $2 for that. In a local restaurant it costs $0,8 and in the store $0.5. And the only thing that was included (the breakfast) was the worst we had in the Maldives, very dry food and huge pepper pieces in the omelette. Honestly if you can, avoid this hotel and intead spend your day on one of the neighboring islands where people are kinder, hotels in general better and beaches way more beautiful (for example Omadhoo or Dhigurah)
The location was good and one guy who worked in the kitchen was very nice and kind

CroatiaTo the island Mahibadhoo we have came by the speed boat from the capital (35$ per person). Beautiful 5 days there. Perfect weather, friendly people, more developed island than the north Island Dharavandhoo but each island is specific on their own way, have different beaches, new food to try:) Compared to the northern island Dharavandhoo, the Mahibadhoo has cusine more oriented to tourist so they mixed local cuisine with continental and it was really good, not spicy (but only if you ask them), always fresh fish and big portions hehe The hotel offers different external activities and we have chosen scuba diving which was really great. First we had like a small lecture by the mentor named Frutti and later we left with him for diving. The cigarettes are like 7 euros, and we couldn't find local fresh juices like in the North but the beaches are more beautiful and highly recommended to bring your equipment for snorkeling but even if you forget the hotel will borrow it without the problem:) Paying - in general be careful everywhere in Maldives to pay with new bills because specifically in the capital Male they won't accept old bills like the bills before 2010! In the South 1 dollar is 10 Maldivian rufiyaa whilst in the North is 15 rufiyaa. Don't know why is that, but they accept without the problem dollars, accept rufiyaa and if you like credit card I truly recommend to get a Revolut card because it has the best rate and you will actually pay the real price no conversion or provision will be added! Finally, as we were there during the Christmas that have prepared for us a special dinner at the beach and it was really something:)
