Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomUnfortunately for me my room faced a construction site across the road and was very noisy but there's a lot of building happening across the Maltese islands. Not the owners fault of course!
Nice and quiet though I believe all the rooms were full. An easy location to get around the island with bus stops 50 yards away and taxis too if needed. My room was comfortable and John went out of his way to get a small fridge for my room. Had a small balcony to sit outside and watch every day life too. Great shower and the air con was top notch. A cooked breakfast to order plus a continental spread if you wished. Unlimited coffee and juices plus freshly baked crossaints and fruit were also on offer. Also has a moon pool in what was I believe a cellar which was great for cooling off on the really hot days.

IrelandHosts - Elena and Anthony treated us like family and were very attentive during the whole stay. They are incredible hosts! Breakfast - Delicious homemade English breakfast, a variety of cold meats and cheeses, yoghurts, cereal, juices (the usual breakfast buffet items). They will cook your breakfast to your liking which is a plus! Indoor heated cave pool - our 6yo absolutely loved this! This was one of her favourite parts of the trip! It’s heated so very warm and it’s also a jacuzzi! Bedroom and Terrace - Very comfortable beds. It’s got a decent size shower too. The terrace is part of the communal outdoor area but it’s tucked away to the end and it wasn’t an issue for us. It overlooks the hill at the back and it’s beautiful. The bedroom is situated at the front of the house along the road so it may be a bit noisy at times but it didn’t bother us. Guesthouse - the entire guesthouse is gorgeous. Parking - There’s two spots right outside the guesthouse and there’s a strip of free parking on the other side of the road. Location - Gozo is quite small so location was perfect for us.

SpainVery good location, perfect if you have a car cause you can just park in front so don’t worry cause you will find easily to park. Just 5’ from Victoria center. The staff is very nice and helpful and the breakfast is delicious. I want to highlight the variety of salts, garlic salt, lemon salt, rosemary salt… very interesting to try. The indoor pool is very cool, very recommend to relax there. Also highly the views from the terrace, me and my partner really liked, perfect for a morning coffee!! 100% recommended!

United KingdomThis beautifully maintained old house with beautiful features has got so much character, we spent Christmas there and it was great! Anthony and Elena were the perfect hosts, so much so that we were meant to go out for lunch but we cancelled and stayed for Elena's delicious cooking! She prepared a huge turkey with all the trimmings, nibbles before and pudding too! A perfect Christmas dinner just like home! Elena also helped me with ideas how to make Santa's presents make it to our room and helped us make Chrismtas perfect for our boys! Our kids loved the indoor pool's its lovely and warm inside, they didn't want to get out. These two hosts were very helpful with our kids, and especially Elena was very patient with my very active 3 year old! Providing a black board to draw, toys to play with and making time for us all was special. Anthony makes sure our glass is always topped up and also giving us something to nibble when we pour a drink! We loved spending time with them seemed like we knew them for a long time! There is no fridge in the room, however there is a section for every room in the fridge downstairs and that worked fine for us. This place is like going to a second home. We actually booked 2 more stays as even the kids loved it and want to return.
