Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI ended up asking to be moved to a sea view room, I would say it’s worth it as the first room was dark and at the back of the hotel. If you don’t mind that then it’s fine, but I definitely needed more light! It’s dated - very clean but dated so if you are bothered about having a modern room, may not be for you! But it was comfortable for me!
Very clean. Well located, great for walking along the harbour, to St Julian’s, not far from the ferry port etc so perfect location for exploring. Well positioned for bars and restaurants etc too. Staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much. There is a small fridge in the room and the a/c all made the stay comfortable

SlovakiaThe shower is terrible. It's tiny and only has a curtain that is way too long and kind of disgusting. No ventilation in the bathroom nor a window. The room was dark. It only has one tiny window in the corner of the room and the view into the wall so practically no daylight. Shower dirty and I mean full of black dirt upon arrival.
Location was great. The receptionist (a guy - sorry, didn't get his name) was quite helpful and very nice.

NetherlandsUncomfortable beds. No hairdryer even though it stated there was one. The door wouldn't always lock. A kettle and cups are provided but nothing else. Lots of huge cracks everywhere. The hotel needs a really good refurbishment then it would be perfect!!
The location is perfect!! Fantastic view. The room is a fabulous size. Beds were made daily and new towels.

AustriaThe streets are really loud usually, and the balcony door doesnt have a good isolation, so cold air and wind come in easly. Overall the rooms could get cleaned better, the windows, bathroom and there was a lot of dust on the walls that were pretty visible to anyone. The towels weren't always spotless . The shower was horrible. So little place and the shower curtains were too long, hanging over the shower drain and blocking the water from going down, almost drowning the bathroom each time. The tiles and door frames were also in a bad shape.
It was close to stores and has a pretty view from the balcony, the staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the little fridge had enough room in it

CanadaThe facilities could definitely use an upgrade. The bed mattresses really need to be upgraded as well. Lighting works but you will either get a complete white dentist light or a light that you might need to use your phone light for (very dark).
The price is good for the location you get. It's right near the ocean and a bunch of good restaurants. Staff are friendly. If you decide on the balcony room, it is worth it, nice view. The room is good enough for a short stay.

NetherlandsThe room was darker than expected and closed with only 1 window. The beds weren't comfortable but overall, a good place.

United KingdomThe one problem I had was noise. I had booked a room with a sea view. The view was magnificent, but unfortunately I hadn't realised the hotel overlooks a very busy road junction and several open-air seaside cafes and restaurants which are busy until quite late. The noise from very early in the morning was incredible! However - when I mentioned this, they went to a lot of trouble to get me another room immediately which was much quieter. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend getting a room at the back of the hotel, if you're not bothered about the view.
It's a good value hotel in a convenient location, with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, etc. very close and buses and a ferry across to Valletta and other places you would want to go to. Keith the manager and the other staff were all very friendly and helpful. The facilities were good, though there were one or two small things, like having trouble opening the door to the balcony; it was fixed when I mentioned it, but then it went wrong again! I think the door needed a new lock. Also there was an electric kettle and cups and glasses, but it might be nice to include a few tea bags/coffee sachets, as most hotels do.

PolandRegarding rooms with balconies, it would be definetily better, if the balconies of adjacent rooms would be divided with a high barrier. I was afraid someone from the second room could see through the balcony windows. Moreover that could prove rather awkward if your neighbours were someone, you wouldn't be fond of.
A humble, but very beautiful place with a lots of restaurants and a main street of Sliema nearby. Additionally, not far from the hotel you can find a supermarket. The room is clean, has a basic amenities, all in a good price.
