Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDespite staying for 5 nights, we were only provided with two coffee pods for the machine in the room. When we asked for more there was an additional charge. Considering the cost of the room it wouldn't have seemed extravagant to have included them in the price like other apartments and hotels do.
We really liked the large and spacious apartment, with access to a rooftop pool and balcony area. The apartment was cleaned daily which was nice to come back to and staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. Location was also very good, with a short walk to most things in St Pauls and where the walk was longer the taxis were also cheap. The cooking/self-catering facilities were comprehensive and contained everything we needed with a large fridge freezer for storage. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

United KingdomA lovely clean apartment, central to local bars & restaurant and the rocky beach. Pool area nice but too quiet for us, no music so would suit guests who prefer quieter atmosphere. No pool bar which we personally missed though they were setting up the “honesty bar” for summer season. Offer was made to bring us drinks from reception. Owner (Elizabeth) was very helpful & friendly.

AustraliaCurtains didn't really meet very well, so didn't block out all light. My room overlooked the bus terminal so that had a little bit of noise. ( But they had popped ear plugs in the room. )
Staff were friendly and welcoming and even checked in on me as I hadn't requested a room clean for a few days. ( I wasn't there very much so didn't need anything.) Room was clean and comfortable and large. Lovely cat as well.

GermanyIt was centrally located in St Paul’s Bay, not about the hotel but if we ever go back to Malta, we would prefer to stay in Valetta :)
We were travelling with a group of friends and their 3 room apartment was really specious and made our life during the trip much easier. It was clean and cleaning service was there everyday. The beds were also really comfortable.

United KingdomPerhaps a little cheeky - but as it was my birthday, it would've been nice to have received a little something to make it more special. Other than that, nothing at all :)
The bed / pillows were super comfortable! Although we were overlooking a bus station, the doors blocked out the noisy street and the room was quite. Also, the hotel was spotless, and in a fab location - close to transport links and the beach. The pool was also spotless and a great spot to catch the sunset.

HungaryWe had a beautiful, comfy apartement with balcony and everything we needed. Rooftop pool is also super. The location is perfect: next to the bus station and many restaurants and the sea are in walking distance. Cleaning service was above expectation and all the receptionists was really kind.

United KingdomThe bathroom was slightly on the small side.
Friendly staff, clean room, quiet rooftop pool. The main bus station is across the street. Having already checked out, I was able to store my luggage and use their shower room later in the day as I had an evening flight.

ItalyIf I could give 11 points, I would, but Booking only goes up to 10 as the maximum rating. We were a group of friends travelling together, and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with five beds and two bathrooms providing all the necessary amenities. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, taking care of us throughout our stay. However, the real highlight was the rooftop terrace with its stunning pool and breathtaking 180-degree sea view. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. Highly recommended!

CanadaThe water pressure for the shower was very low, and it would be nice if the hours of the rooftop pool opened earlier and/or closed later. it’s not a huge deal, but since it’s likely you will be bussing far to Valletta or elsewhere, it made it difficult to fit in time in the day for the pool.
The room was amazing and came with everything you need. Full kitchen, clean bathroom, and a really comfy bed. We also had a beautiful balcony. The location was also amazing as we were about 20 steps from the bus loop. We would basically exit the hotel and be ready to take a bus to anywhere in Malta as the busses showed up very frequently.

Czech RepublicDuring breakfast, you can only get one coffee and one glass of juice. If you want to get more, you'll be charged 2 EUR per each, that doesn't really feel good. The walls in the room had a few stains and the door of the room was squeaking. Also, some electrical sockets weren't working in the room.
The breakfast was really nice and you get to pick from a couple of options each day, everything was fresh and very tasty. The staff is very kind and the local hotel cat is just a cherry on the top. Feeling of the hotel is really nice - well designed, yet nothing too artsy. A calm place to stay at, while still being in the center of the city. I would definitely come back to stay here during my next visit to Malta. Parking is available directly in front of the hotel or on a nearby public parking lot, for free. The bed is great, very comfortable.

United KingdomNothing - it was more than we had hoped for
We chose it because it was an apartment hotel - it was very well kitted out. The bedroom and bathroom were a great size and to have a second space sitting room kitchen diner was perfect. It was our first time in Malta the hotel was extremely close to the bus station so getting around was a doddle. We could see the sea from our room and the view from the roof top pool was wonderful. The sound insulation was excellent Malta is a busy place and we weren’t disturbed. There is a good breakfast menu available. The staff were extremely helpful There was extensive lounge type seating if you wanted it. We liked the decor
