Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAbsolutely fantastic stay at a fabulous hotel. We were excited about staying due to the great reviews and were thrilled to find we had been upgraded on arrival to a room with a hot tub! The staff were really friendly and attentive, and sorted two small issues out very quickly. The bed was super comfy, plenty of storage, fabulous shower and lovely temperature. We loved the roof terrace with the plunge pool, perfect for chilling out and cooling off. It was always tricky to get a lounger in the afternoon but we had the place to ourselves in the morning. Breakfast was brilliant - loads of choice. You can choose one dish each from the a la carte (eggs, cooked breakfast, French toast (sweet and savoury), omelettes etc) and then the self-serve buffet had bread, pastries, cakes, fresh and dried fruit, cheese and meat, yoghurt and cereal. Plus a great selection of jam. There was a choice of about 9 different fruit juices, but we really loved the freshly squeezed orange juice so had that most days! We enjoyed sitting at a table in the furthest room along, nice and peaceful. The fitness room was good but all the walking we did meant I didn’t have the energy to use it! The location of the hotel is perfect - extremely walkable (although some roads are very steep, factor this time in!) for all the bars, restaurants and attractions. It was our first visit to Malta and we will be back. We adored the laidback nightlife of chilled bars with live music. Highlights to visit: - Mdina (30 mins on the bus), especially the Dungeon Museum. - Birgu for a ride on the gondola boat, - Sliema on the ferry. - Valetta for Fort St Elmo, well worth the money, a great insight into the history of Malta. We also loved Casa Rocca Piccolo house (definitely do the guided tour) and Mysterium Fidei underground monastery. Upper and lower Barraka gardens are also worth a look around. Food: - Ta’Kris in Sliema for delicious rustic Maltese food - Trabuxu wine bar for stunning food and wine

NetherlandsThe only thing I have to mention is the breakfast. Im not really fond of a la carte breakfasts as it limits my options. I love to have a lot of eggs in the morning and unfortunately I was limited by the size of the ordered meals. Maybe eggs could be offered in the buffet section as well? The food was tasty though, so I cant complain much. Apart from that, all good!
Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a nice surprise: a room upgrade! We got a huge duplex room in the new part of the hotel, and it was incredible. Airco is super strong, bed and pillows were very comfortable, great shower. Location was perfect as it was far enough from the bustling and noisy areas, but still close enough to easily walk to the main areas. The windows kept the room very quiet in any case. Great blackout curtains. Rooftop pool was great! Staff was courteous and efficient all along. Overall, amazing experience!

SwitzerlandThe ventilation is quite loud and the doors are very thin. Depending on where you are located, you can hear the elevator, people talking, almost everything like they are in your room. For light sleepers can be an inconvenience.
The beautiful room, the quality service, the gentillesse of the personnel. The beautiful pool and plenty of sundecks, and the bartender makes delicious pinas coladas.

IsraelGreat boutique hotel, great location just 5 minutes from the center. We could walk around easily, catch a break in the afternoon and go back out. We were even upgreated to a room with a private hot tub, which is always nice. We enjoyed the pool and its facilities, enjoyed the breakfest and all in all were always welcomed with a warming smile from the staff.

United KingdomNothing the hotel is spot on.
The hotel and staff were fantastic. The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were always very helpful and friendly. The breakfast and choice was superb and always perfectly cooked. Location of the hotel in Valletta was perfect for exploring the area and Malta itself. We used local buses, ferries and bolt taxis to travel around.

IrelandA bit expensive.
It was better than I expected. Super quiet, new furniture, marble floor and it’s not hot in the room during the summer. We were on the ground floor. The air conditioning makes the room cold very fast and then it stays cool without air conditioning. Staff is very nice. I appreciate the luggage storage option and that it’s secure (room is locked and with tags/ numbers for luggage).

We loved everything! The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable, with a great bed, excellent bathroom and plenty of space. There was a fridge (with a small mini bar), tea, coffee, a coffee machine, wine glasses and bottle opener. Very well set up! Also we had a huge deck and a spa pool (sadly it was a bit hot to use the spa pool). The roof top pool was fantastic and we enjoyed have cocktails by the pool in the early evening. The breakfast was excellent with the lots of options, including some tasty Maltese items. The overall decor of the hotel and rooms is very nice and tasteful. Also the location is great and lovely to be in the historic area of Valletta. This is a very high quality hotel and I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting Valletta.

United KingdomI would have loved to see a slightly larger breakfast option. There are no cereals at all for children, only one option. In the end my daughter went to the local shop and brought her own to bring in the morning.
Location was perfect, only a couple of minutes walk to the main area. We had a wonderful room with our two children. A double bed for them on the mezzanine floor. Good size rooms, with new fresh water daily. Staff were very nice and attentive, couldn’t fault the breakfast staff at all, just amazing.
