Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaThis is unrelated to the accommodation itself, but the nearby restaurant had its empty glass bottles stored close to the house and these got emptied into a garbage truck every morning in an abrupt and loud manner, sometimes as early as 7:30. There probably isn't a noise-free way of handling glass containers. but this was quite noisy and regularly woke me up, even though I can easily fall asleep to or sleep through all kinds of city noises.
The location was fantastic, and being able to look out my window and see the beautiful St Sofia Church was awe-inspiring. It is also right next to the famous Krapche House, which inspired the famous Ohrid lanterns seen throughout the settlement, and sits on one of the main Old Town streets connecting it to the beaches like Kaneo and Potpeš. This means there was always a lot of pedestrian traffic, but it didn't bother me at all, even with the windows kept ajar. The host(s) were also quite pleasant, responsive and easy to communicate to, and the room appeared to be just as advertised. I also always had hot water and an effective, working AC, which is a huge plus in my book. I was even allowed an earlier check-in and could store some of my luggage after the check out, which was a big relief and allowed me to make use of those two days unencumbered, which means a lot after/before an 9-hour bus trip. All in all, the stay was great and well worth the price. Nothing beats Ohrid's Old Town charm, and this place was dab in the middle of it.

SloveniaAmazing location, right next to the Saint Sophia basilica. The old couple running the place is very friendly. I arrived to the apartment very late and wasn't sure which doorbell to press so I gave the owner a call on Whatsapp and they immediately came down to open the door for me. The room was very clean and cosy. The restaurant Kajce next door serves tasty breakfast.

United KingdomProperty is situated right in the heart of the old town and couldn't be better placed for wandering around and soaking up the highlights of Ohrid. There is also a fantastic restaurant on the edge of the lake just 100 yards/metres from the front door, unconnected to the apartment as far as I know but it was a massive bonus.

United KingdomThe owners speak very little English and indicated, the day before payment, that payment by card would be acceptable until the next day, when time to check-out, and they said I couldn't use a card and so I had to take a trip to an ATM to pay in cash. I think owners should make it very clear at the booking stage whether they accept a card or not.

United KingdomThe shower heads were broken and the base of the shower leaked flooding the bathroom. It was not designed to be a wet room so the water flowed towards the bedroom. The whole thing needs replacing. When the bathroom window was closed the drain smelled very bad.
Eke Irin Apartments were brilliantly located next to lovely St. Sophia, the boardwalk to the beach and some good restaurants. We were met on time by the host and shown around. The room was pleasant, though the furniture was a bit dated, and had a great view from the window.

BulgariaThe shower cabin was very old and wretched, flooding the whole bathroom. It was impossible to drain the water as the trap was clogged. There was not a mop or a cloth to swab up the water. No place to hang the shower, you need to hold it in one hand while trying to wash your hair. Very poor lightning in the rooms, impossible to read at night. The whole space in the attic is lit only by a single bulb. No night lamps near the bed (in fact there are lamps. but not working). A very strange old couple, keeping their doors constantly open, right next to your room. Every time you exit, you see them, or hear someone snoring in front of the TV. No privacy at all, a very strange concept, that you need to feel their presence all the time. The ceiling in the attic is really low, you need to be careful not to bump your head. They don't accept card payment and the ATMs have a terrible commission for cash withdrawal.
The location is amazing. The best asset about this property. The windows look over St. Sofia church. From the attic you can see the lake.
