Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyManga Soa Lodge wasn't just a place to stay; it was an immersive experience that placed us right in the heart of Madagascar's awe-inspiring nature and wildlife. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was going to be the most magical vacation we had ever had—and it truly was. Situated right on the ocean's edge, most bungalows offered breathtaking views that made us feel as if we were a part of the seascape. The natural infinity pool wasn't just a pool; it was a frame for the living artwork that is the ocean and sky. With only around 10 bungalows, the lodge provided an intimate, familial atmosphere. The staff wasn't just courteous; they embodied a level of hospitality that made us feel as if we had been welcomed into a home. But what set this place apart was its harmonious coexistence with nature. Opening the wooden shutter in the morning was like opening a portal to an enchanting world—where the ocean smiled back at us, diverse animal calls serenaded us, and even a friendly gecko might greet you from the ceiling. It was a level of interconnectedness with nature that is seldom found in the western world. Now that we've returned from this slice of paradise, the memories continue to mesmerize us. We owe a huge thank you to Evra, the service team, and especially Luc for making our stay on Nosy-Be a remarkable one. We are still ecstatic about the many beautiful moments we experienced and we will unquestionably return.

South AfricaThe hot water is solar powered so you would have to time your showers accordingly. The Wifi didn't always work so well (only available around the reception area/pool) the Breakfast was a little limited but after the second day we did ask for eggs which rounded it off.
My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our 7night stay at the lodge. The road to the lodge is quite bumpy and a little nerve wrecking (you get used to this after a few days )but after about 20min you find yourself in this beautiful secluded location. For 3days we were the only guests which was lovely, the first room we had unfortunately didn't have hot water but we got moved to another room the next day with no problem... The rooms were spacious enough and surprisingly not too hot at night. The staff are really lovely and go out of their way to make your stay even more memorable. They didn't hesitate to go above and beyond for my birthday even baking a special cake at no extra cost and decorating a special area of the resort. Luc the managar was always available to organize any trip or special request that we had. He went above and beyond and even sorted out a last minute trip for us to Nosy Iranja on our last day. The grounds are beautiful and so peaceful. I also loved the massages and the food was delicious. Something different every day for lunch and supper. The ladies make a great cocktail especially the mojito . Will definitely love to go back in the future. The perfect spot if you are looking to be away from the hustle and bustle and just RELAX. We already miss it!!!

It is a perfect destination for a honeymoon. My partner and I truly enjoyed our stay. I would also like to thank the owner for going above and beyond in helping me organize a surprise romantic dinner with my partner. Merci beaucoup!

the location is incredible - so remote and beautiful yes close to the airport (by very rocky road). And the lodge was a stunning. But the team are a rival for the beauty of everything - each one looking after you from the heart.

South AfricaIf you are a strict vegetarian, you will not have great options. In general the food is passable. Breakfast is limited and the same every day. There are not enough loungers in the shade when the resort is full.
The location is lovely. We even spotted turtles from shore. Close to the airport.

Saudi ArabiaNo Wifi in the rooms. Lodges has no full walls so the morning is an exiting expedition of "what to find ". I had a frog in my toilet, lizards on the walls and dead/alive cockroaches and even a big praying mantis sitting on the mosquito net. Breakfast was a few pieces of bread and some fruit, nothing else. After second day i had to ask for a omelet, which i did get. Would have wanted a menu or buffet.
Beautiful gardens and view.

ItalyThe choice of food for lunch and dinner was very limited and the quality quite low (among the worst we’ve had in Madagascar). The hotel is quite isolated (20min rough road from the airport), which means that going anywhere is not that easy. Also consider that the most beautiful beaches are in the north of the island, so approximately 1h away.
Great facility, the hotel has very nice bungalows in the middle of the nature with a great-looking infinity pool and a very comfortable common area in ehich to relax and have a drink. the owners are very much available and ready to help you organize whatever activoty. the hotel also proposes very good massages.
