Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaYou have to walk the last kilometre to the resort from the road as you cross the neighbours property who is in dispute with the resort owners and has denied vehicle access. Steep hill so if you aren`t relatively fit or able this could be a problem.
If you looking for a quiet resort on the Island then this is the place to be. Lovely a huge swimming pool overlooking a very quiet beach. Food is good but pretty repetitive - same menu and breakfast options every day. Staff very friendly and efficient. Owner Phillipe can organise pretty much anything on the Island. The sunsets are magnificent and can be enjoyed from the privacy of your own bungalow. The snorkelling at the reef in front of the hotel is as good as any organised tour and reception will provide snorkels and googles. Take a 20 minute stroll up the beach to Bellamandy next door for lunch - very good.

Beautiful location with helpful owner. Easy to arrange activities or to just relax in the roomy bungalow or by the pool. Good food!

GermanyJust be aware - in the afternoon from 2-5pm there’s no electricity, and no aircon in the bungalows. And the hotel is quite remote. If you don’t mind these facts (I didn’t), then go ahead and book right away :)
It‘s truely a little paradise - you just lay back and can take it all in. Highly recommend the hotel with it‘s beautiful view, great (sea-)food, awesome day trip options and lovely service.

Extremely comfortable and well designed bungalows, charming and attentive staff. Some great walks along the coast, both north and south (go low tide and you can walk from beach to beach through the mangroves).

We stayed for 5 nights We enjoyed everything. Bungalow was very comfortable. Food was good. Staff was great (owner and family onsite and super helpful). Our flight back to Tana wasn’t until the evening but Phillip graciously provided us with an empty bungalow to shower in and relax before our flight.

South AfricaThe beach seems to have a sandfly problem. By my last few days, I was scratching a lot, and even lying by the pool I was getting bitten. My bug spray didn't help either. The internet in the rooms doesn't really work, but the internet in the main reception area/restaurant is fine. (I had a sim card and just used data from that and that worked absolutely fine!) There is no electricity between 2pm-5pm, which honestly I didn't even notice, but depending on your needs it may be worth taking note of. (The nice thing is they run off a generator so the other 21 hours of the day you have reliable electricity, which is not the norm in Madagascar!) The shower water is also not hot. (It's not cold, but it's just not piping hot.) This didn't bother me at all as it's so hot there you actually don't want a hot shower. But again, if this is important to you then something to consider. I will say the shower pressure was AMAZING though! 10/10!
This place is even more stunning in person. Usually, I expect to be a little disappointed when arriving as places usually don't live up to the images, but this one only exceeded the images. I was greeted on arrival with a welcome drink, given all the information needed and then the staff carried my bags to my bungalow on the beach. It was like something out of a movie. The rooms are stunning; so quiet and private. Watching the ocean from your bed is something that never gets old. Phillip and the staff are BEYOND accommodating. They went out of their way to spoil my friends when they came to visit for a birthday, and organised day trips for us and basically anything we asked for. They have a boat that leaves right from the beachfront at the reception to take you on day trips which is SO convenient as it saves a lot of time and hassle. I was able to go to Nosy Sakatia and Nosy Fahny right from the beach. I really enjoyed the food (breakfast was GREAT!) and the pool is majestic. There is cool snorkelling about 100m from the shore (depending on the tide) and the kayaks are also fun to take out. They have a little, well-stocked shop with super reasonable prices (not marked up from what the street vendors price the goods at, which is unusual considering it is a hotel boutique). I honestly never wanted to leave. Phillip arranged a day trip to Nosy Sakatia for me and a few other guests in my last week and we ended up being a group of single female travellers. It was a really lovely day and we became fast friends! It was really fun to spend my last few days with new friends and I hope to meet up with them on future travels.

United KingdomA few of the staff were over-focused on tips, which is not unusual in countries where tourism is the main source of income but I found it out of keeping with the resort's aura of relaxation. A hard nut to crack though.
Delightful, tranquil resort off the beaten track. Large, airy, wooden bungalows, each with 2 comfortable sun beds set among fragrant llang llang bushes, palms and other tropical vegetation. Private beach, clean and quiet. Tours, tuktuks, private massage, kayaks and snorkelling eqipment available. Swimming in the warm sea water and relaxing in the infinity pool, watching the sun disappear beyond the horizon, often accompanied by a friendly kingfisher. Fresh fruit and fish available daily. Breakfast a chocoholics dream. Sipping apéritifs in the open air lounge while enjoying the most stunning sunsets I've ever seen. So much to enjoy in this well-designed, well-run resort where the owner, M. Philippe and his family, are always on hand with friendly greetings and assistance. Would love to return one day.

EthiopiaThe breakfast buffet was somewhat disappointing with limited options; however, the lunch and dinner menu was good with a range of delicious dishes to choose from. The beach was also subpar compared to nearby islands. The cocktails from the bar were also a bit too sweet and dependent on seasonal local fruit so not a lot of variety are available.
Our stay at Anjiamarango was with its comfortable and fully-equipped rooms, and a beautiful infinity-esq pool. The resort has free equipment for some activities (e.g. kayaking) and also arranges activities outside like day trips to nearby islands, hiking, etc. The restaurant and bar facilities were also fantastic, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The highlight was the breathtaking sunset that could be enjoyed from the comfort of the rooms. Overall, it was an amazing and highly recommended vacation experience.
