Driving in Montenegro is like an amusement park, except it's for real. Posted speeds are more of a guide, people park in the most bizarre manner.

We liked everything. The hotel is definitely 5 star, but not snobby, very family like. The location is ideal if you want to get a feel for common people.

Everything was good! As a general comment a one night stay is probably enough for visiting this area.

We had a lovely two night stay at Stara Carsija. It’s in a great spot steps away from the old town, the rooms were nice and comfortable and the food from the restaurant was great. We enjoyed the hamman treatment at the spa.

The hotel was located at the top of a hill so if you don’t like walking can be a pain but they do have a lift to the old town

The property was beautiful and in a great location The staff were lovely and very helpful They made suggestions on where to go and what to do as we were new to the country Alladin was a waiter who suggested that we go to a near by waterfall which was beautiful and a highlight of our trip. The hotel was alcohol free but we didn’t mind that too much and restaurant provided us with a tasty breakfast and quite a variety to choose from. Would definitely stay again.

Noise staff at reception at night when trying to sleep talking loudly . I don't think they realise their conversations carry through the hotel rooms. Kitchen extractor fan noisy and smelly outside the balconies. Hard bed and pillows. Breakfast items not topped up when finished. Not real coffee at breakfast just pods. Breakfast egg station uses oil not butter for the scrambled eggs.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. Very pleasant staff. Lovely decoration and a lovely big Bathroom with huge shower lovely decor . Fresh fruit in the room. Balcony had wonderful views of the Stari Bar. Close to great restaurants and bars. Breakfast has an egg station. Chocolates at bed time.

Indoor pool is really part of the Spa rather than a pool for swimming.

The room was stylish and functional with amazing views of the hills and old walled city which is worth a visit. Breakfast was exceptional.

The service in the restaurant was very hit and miss. The first time we ate there, it was appalling. We waited 55mins with dirty plates in front of us, just wanting to order more drinks and desserts. We gave up and left- couldn't even get them to bring a bill over so we left assuming it'd be put on the room. The food was really good, as are the mocktails (alcohol-free hotel) so a couple of days later we ate there again but requested to sit on the terrace area and the service was perfect then! When we checked out, my boyfriend mentioned the service on the first night and he was told it was because we were late to our booking (which aside from the fact that wasn't true)- it makes no sense why that would have created that service. Didn't appreciate being lied to or told it was somehow our fault.

Beautiful hotel, pool and restaurant with lift access straight onto the main street- a great touch. Breakfast was decent and the food in the restaurant was excellent! Their ice cream is absolutely incredible- real shame they don't allow it by the pool. The room was ok, fairly small but a nice bathroom and delicious chocolates on the bed at night. The spa is really good, lovely relaxation room with great service in there and a lovely little indoor haven. The highlight of the stay was the Hammam by Ferhat. He was amazing- so good my boyfriend and I booked a massage for the next day. Very talented!

Very peaceful hotel - with much to offer. Beautiful view of the Fortress and Stari Bar. Fantastic to be able to see all this the August heat then retreat to this fabulous calming hotel.

Very strange location for breakfast. With all the wonderful space and incredible views it was a shame to be inside underground! Also the hotel in general needs some proper signage. Very easy to get lost.

The hoterl is having spa with pool and sauna but unfortunately, there is no gym

The hotel in a very exclusive location near Bar Old City, but offers a lot of privacy. Unlike the city centre here it is not crowded and you can relax and enjoy your holiday. The food is excellent in the restaurant and the staff is very friendly.

We had to move rooms twice. We’d booked a deluxe room with balcony. The first room was smaller than advertised and the balcony was intrusively overlooked by the restaurant. The second room was on the reception level and so loud that I had to ask the reception staff to quieten down at 11pm, and after sleeping very badly and being fully awoken by reception and guests at 6am, I again went out and asked to change rooms. We changed later that day to an upgraded pool suite which no longer had a balcony but was lovely and quiet. For a 5* hotel, breakfast was underwhelming and there were no waiters bringing coffee and the self service coffee machine was out of order, so we had to pay for coffee at the bar. Also the housekeeping wasn’t 5* standard - rubbish not removed from room, bed not remade properly.

The location, comfortable rooms, friendly and welcoming service, great food and views from the terrace restaurant, lovely relaxing pool and spa (great couples’ hammam experience). Magical views and atmosphere in Stari Bar. Staff were kind and accommodating when we needed to move rooms due to privacy issues and noise.

Understanding how to reach the hotel can be challenging. Google maps will make some of worst U turns ever and you will lose experience

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, constructed on multiple levels, which makes it a bit of an adventure. You can never be quite sure where the restaurant is, where the rooms begin, or where the spa ends. It’s like a maze with multiple entry points, each leading you to a different experience. There are so many wonderful young people here, all striving to make your stay as pleasant as possible on every level. Their dedication to service is truly impressive, adding to the charm and unique atmosphere of the hotel.

There was no bus or transport to the beach and the hotel is quite far from the beach. Taxi is cheap but multiple trips do add up. but this is not a huge issue overall still think the hotel was a great experience and worth the money.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The language was very good and easy to communicate in English. the place was very clean and food at the hotel was great. facilities were amazing. I loved that the food was halal and one person in our group had several dietary requirements and staff tried their best to help.

Everything. The food was very traditional and delicious. The breakfast was till 12 o'clock, and it was never empty. The kids loved the small pool with a beautiful view. The weiteres were very professional and kind. We loved the 3 days spent there and would do it again.
