Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing. My only disappointment was that the night we returned to Marrakech from Essaouira for one night before flying back to the UK, the Riad was fully booked, so we had to stay elsewhere.
The staff at the Riad were exceptional. I am sorry I didn't get all their names. From the gentleman who greeted us on arrival, served us dinner on our first night and brought us drinks on the terrace after our Hamman. The gentleman who served breakfast and let us in when we came back late one night. The gentleman who went through the map of the city with us and gave us lots of really helpful suggestions on where to visit, local customs and useful tips regarding taxis and bargaining and who helped us book our Hammam and Massage treatment. Samir, who was also a constant during our stay and the only member of this exceptional team whose name I know. The professionalism, kindness and sense of humour of them all, really added to our stay and experience. They are all a great asset to the Riad. The Riad is beautifully decorated, with a spacious ground floor where breakfast and dinner are taken. Our room was Tanger on the second floor. The roof terrace was a beautiful and extensive space, set over two floors with sun loungers, sofas, alcoves and seating in different configurations, so there was plenty of outdoor space. You never felt crowded and there was plenty of room to sit in the sun or shade, relax, read, have a cold beer or some wine and sunbathe very comfortably. The breakfast was lovely, with different breads, cakes and fruits served daily and an option for eggs too. The warm brioche type buns were amazing. The housekeeping was excellent and everywhere - our room and public spaces, was exceptionally clean. We booked a transfer through the Riad and had dinner the night we arrived, as our flight arrived in the evening. The experiece was seamless and a great welcome to the City. Access to the main square was very straightforward from the Riad, just, left, right and left again. Not far to walk around 10 to 15 mins, with lots to look at. I am so glad we booked at L'oiseau du Paradis and would strongly recommend it to anyone else looking to visit Marrakech.

United States3% charge for credit card payments. I wasn't aware in advance, would have liked to be prepared, to avoid fees and pay in cash. Would be ideal to disclose at check in time, to be prepared

New ZealandThe hospitality that we experienced was out of this world. The staff was exceptional. Very helpful and accommodating to our needs, for which we were especially grateful after a long day of traveling. They prepared a meal in the middle of the night when we arrived and even helped us get to the accommodation at 1am. We had another day of traveling ahead of us when we left and they prepared a packed lunched, fantastic.

NetherlandsA good location, close to the centre of Marrakech. The staff is very nice and makes the stay very comfortable. We’ve had dinner and breakfast here, which was really good. The surroundings of the riad are very pretty and it provides many facilities, such as hammam, a swimming pool, a rooftop and the possibility to eat dinner at the riad.

United KingdomAs other reviewers have commented… - the prayer call and other people in the riad can be heard so take ear plugs! - it is down a few quiet lanes off a Main Street to the square. Didn’t concern myself or my husband but solo travellers might want to be aware.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, calm and peaceful riad in the medina then look no further. The shared areas of the riad are stunning and well looked after. The rooms are beautiful. The staff are so attentive and from the moment we stepped into the riad we felt so welcome. We booked the airport transfer which was well worth it in the 43 degree heat! We also booked the Moroccan 3 course meal that the riad’s chef prepared. It was delicious and it was so beautiful eating in the courtyard. The breakfast was delicious. Location is perfect for the square/souks/museums etc. We walked everywhere in the heat! 10/10 all round. We’d love to return!

United KingdomNothing, we loved everything about it.
This little Riad is a hidden gem. It’s in a great location, meaning we could walk around the medina with ease (which was important in 40 degree heat!) We loved how well looked after everything was, its beautiful interiors and how accommodating and lovely the staff were. Breakfast is delicious and more than enough to keep you going throughout the day. Special thanks to Adnan for his recommendations and again for being so kind!

United KingdomThere isn't a good selection of food (if you want to stay in the Riad) but understandable in such a small place.
When the taxi driver stopped and said that we have arrived I was horrified. The area around the Riad doesn't look good. The minute we was welcomed, I understood what people meant saying that this property is a hidden gem. It looks exactly like online, provides relaxing and safe atmosphere. Good breakfast, kind staff.

United KingdomThis certainly doesn’t take anything away from our experience but we had a room in the ground floor which was nice due to the kids using the pool. However, you are pretty much in the restaurant, pool and lounge area. As quiet as people try to be, should anyone choose to stay in the pool or eat late, you will hear their whispers. Just something to be mindful of but still didn’t spoil our stay.
Absolutely everything about this raid was beyond our expectations. The staff, the location close enough to the souls and main square, the peacefulness, tranquility and most of all feeling relaxed and safe. The decor is mesmerising and you really are in a special place. I could go on but you must book to really see for yourself
