Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyLike most of the small restaurants and hotels in Morocco you are kindly requested to pay cash despite sometimes they even have a credit card machine. I think this is because they pay lot of bank commissions on those transactions. That was not a big problem for us since you can find lot of money exchange bureaus and ATMs at a fair exchange rate in the Medina.
The Riad is located in a cul-de-sac away from the noisy sunny streets, which makes it very quiet and chilly especially in the hottest days. Mohammed and Amina are extraordinarily nice and full of useful advices about where to eat, which prices you should pay for different services and so on. Amina took even her time to take us to her favourite Hammam (a massage centre). Breakfast on the top terrace is abundant and lets you start the day with a smile on your face.

CroatiaThe beds are really hard. Also the room was on ground floor next to reception so you can here everything, especially in the evening hours. Also the towels stay damp as the room has not ventiltion (windows are high near ceeling and one looks on recepcion so it cannot be opened or everyone cen see in your room). We ordered breakfast first day but decided to have it somewhere else for other days as we had better.
The staff was very friendly and the terrace was ok but the floors were not clean. There was a problem with shower and they fixed it when I asked for. I think they try to do their best but they have problems with pluming and damp smell. Rooms in upper floors, which are smaller (we were 4) look very nice.

FranceWe told the staff that we needed to leave at 8:20 am the following day and they told us that since breakfast started at 8am we wouldn’t have time to eat it in 20 minutes so they refused to meet us at 8am to prepare it. We didn’t really understand the logic there, we would have appreciated even just a coffee and fruits, which anyone can easily eat in 20 minutes… Apart from that the staff was nice and welcoming. Another bad point is the location, it was pretty hard to find and we had to ask some people working at nearby shops to help us find the hotel.
The room was spacious and very clean.

SloveniaThe riad is wrongly marked on google maps so we had a lot of issues locating it and were constantly approached by locals that tried to "help us" and charge a lot of money for help.
The hosts are very friendly and the place is nice.

GermanyAlthough indicated on google maps, the riad was hard to find. The entrance was marked on the wrong street, so I walked around the area with heavy luggage for a while, before I found it. Usually, the riad offers help via WhatsApp, but I did not have any more mobile data. The check-in was a bit of work and I was not able to pay by card. This is unusual where I normally live in Europe. I ended up finding enough cash, but don't know how other guests do it, who have more expensive rooms or stay longer.
The Riad was well situated close to the city wall. I needed to be close to the airport bus, which was a 5min walk away. The alley the riad is on is very quiet, and I was pleased with the hotel. The room was nice, well furnished and has comfortable beds. The wifi connection was good and so was the breakfast. There was staff in the house at all times, who were very friendly and supportive. I needed to print my boarding pass and the staff helped me out as well. They didn't have a printer themselves, but knew somewhere I could print it.

SwedenThe bathroom was not cleaned when we arrived and smelled bad, but Tarik cleaned it right away for us. We didn't manage to heat up the room with the AC. It wasn't possible for us to pay by card.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room didn't have shower gel and shampoo as advertised but Tarik was super nice and went out to buy it for us. The breakfast on rooftop terrace was also great.
